Works well, good price
I purchased this cable after already having a wireless shutter release cable. The wireless is nice, but I end up attaching a unit to the camera that takes batteries and then I have a separate remote that has batteries. Sometimes I just don't want to check and carry spares for anything more than my camera and flashes which is why I purchased this. I had another wired shutter release before but it stopped working. It always felt cheap so I guess it was just a matter of time before it gave out on me. This one seems to have a better build quality. This shutter release is very light, requires no batteries and just works well. I've used a number of times and it seems durable. The cable is long enough for when I am behind the camera but if I want to be in a photo, I still use the wireless unit.

Works Just Fine
Purchased this cable release on a whim at the same time I bought my new Canon 7D. I'd been meaning to pick up a release for a while, but had been choking on the price tag for a Canon-branded one. Figured this couldn't be too bad for the price, so I tossed it onto an existing order and hoped for the best. Overall, the construction feels a little "cheap", in that the button is rather squishy and the slide-to-lock binds a little bit on mine (I would call the feel "inexpensive imported plastic" overall), but functionality is 100% perfect. I have shot approximately 900 frames with the release now, predominantly using it to ontrol my 7D in bulb mode for fireworks and lightning shots, with a smattering of portrait and low-light macro shooting in the mix. I am quite pleased with it, and for the price I paid I am quite satisfied. If it were to fail on me at some point now, I would most likely purchase another. Is it as finely built as the OEM product? Not even close. Does it work? Flawlessly. UPDATE - 11/13/14: I now have some thousands of shots taken with this, and it is still working well. The binding in the slide-to-lock appears to have gone away with time and use, it's decently smooth now. Two years and a bit in, still going strong!

Works Great!!
I have a Canon 5D and it doesn't have an infrared sensor. I've been searching high and low for a good, reasonable priced cable trigger for this camera for years. I've tried others that fail to last. Either the plug breaks easily or the button quits working within a few uses. This one is holding up quite well. The shutter release action is very smooth and responds as soon as I use the button. The actual product seems to be well pieced together, not a lot of places the button could jam. Very good product.

Great product, works well with my Canon 5D classic
Got it in the mail today, and tried it on my camera. Works pretty well, and appears to be built good. The jack fits well in the camera body as well. Do not have any problems with the product so far. Will update about the performance in about a months time. It is more expensive than other non-branded third party remote shutter releases available in the market. But still cheaper than OEM Canon ones. Plus I would rather spend some extra money for peace of mind and avoid any inconveniences while shooting pics.

Great value
So far the prodcut works exactly as stated. I typically don't stray to the aftermarket but figured for 15 bucks its worth a shot. I don't use a remote switch that often (maybe an occasional fire works show, lightning etc) so for the price a great addittion to the gear bag. Some reviewers stated that the "slide/lock" switch was stiff. My works flawless. Really not much too these, it either works or it doesn't, why spend the 45 for the OEM when this does exactly the same with a longer cord for 15.... btw I use it on a Canon 7d

Excellent quality product for the price!
I chose this item as the reviews were quite positive and I had been noticing that Korean made products to be superior to that coming from China. I had several of the shutter release cable made in China and they stopped working after a while and or it was difficult to connect to the Canon 5D mark II. This specific product was easy to insert and at the same time it looks like it would be easy to get it disconnected. So one need to watch out for that part. The button is much smoother and works nice. I do recommend it !

The must accessory for shooting on tripods with long shutter speeds.
It is welcome addition to my digital photography arsenal. I use it when my camera on a tripod in dim lightening situations with out a flash. It allows me to use low ISO and a smaller aperture with a slow shutter speed like shooting night cityscapes scenes. In addition, lately I am trying to shoot portraits using diffused widow light without a flash. So far it works fine and delivers the performance as it was advertised. I would really recommend this product to any photographer who wants to get very sharp camera-shake-free photos but don't forget to cover your camera viewfinder window to prevent messing up your exposure.
