If you carry a knife in your pant pocket, you should train with an aid like this one. This polypropylene knife is a good aid in safely practicing your knife wielding craft. Retention, movement, and protection are all important to practice and understand before you need to use the knife. This is a good tool, and it feels durable. It is not a weapon. You train yourself to become the weapon; safe and effective training tool. Light weight, rigid, and inexpensive.

If you train any Filipino Martial Arts and you have a focus on realistic training then this is what you need. Similar in size as most tactical folders. Elevate your training and get some of these guys

A lot of the training knives are the size of something used for Old West dueling. This folder mirrors a pocket knife of whatever make, from practical to tacticool. It’s made of durable plastic so it can fly into floors and the wall without issue. It’s blunt and rounded so you can slash and stab without harming a training partner. (Be responsible and use eye protection regardless.) If you must have one that opens, prepare to pay $80-$300. I can use this one on pads or a heavy bag. Friends had their super cool “realistic” training flippers snap off with anything more than air waving. This also is a good concealed training blade for when you want to add some spice to a training session, or if your school isn’t an autocratic ego trip for the Grand Guru Sensei and allows some innovations beyond “knife attack 1a sub paragraph B” meets “knife defense 2b.”
