They work exactly as they ought. When I heat up the grill it gets hot and stays hot. I can turn off the grill and finish cooking the burgers which saves me $$ on gas and the heat is even all the way across my grill. My 1/2 lb burgers are cooking in 5-10 mins for well done! Very happy I got these. My grill took more than one package, almost a whole box more but that's OK. I'll save the overage for replacements. You do have to turn the bricks over once in a while to cook off the fat that drips on them (after about 10 uses, maybe less) or you'll get larger and larger flames shooting up, but that's a small price to pay for the savings in gas and the convenience these add in even cooking. I'm very happy I got these.

With a poorly designed, off the shelf, consumer grill - the heat produced, or rather, distributed, was wholly inadequate and could not sear worth a damn. Removing the drip guard, adding an additional grill grate above the flame tube to support these evenly spaced bricks - we now have consistent, even, high heat and perfect grill marks. I have not yet tested their "self cleaning" capabilities, but because they get so very hot, so far, all drippings have been rendered to flavor smoke. Love it. (Incidentally, the additional grill grate was found here on Amazon)

Mine arrived on time and well packaged. No broken blocks. I have a Weber Spirit 2. I consider this a medium size propane grill. This box of blocks filled my grill 3/4's full following the directions for placement on the box. This is ok for me, since I only use 2 of the 3 burners 90% of the time. (Family of 3). I will purchase another box to fully cover the grill grate and/or if I decide to purchase a larger grill. I have used the grill only 1 time since placing the blocks on my grill. The grill retained plenty of heat with these. I would recommend these to my friends & family.

Works great

Saw a suggestion to try these with your pellet grill and for the price I figured it was worth a shot. Turns out it was well worth it! By adding a little thermal mass to the smoker it really helps to maintain temps when you need to open the lid, and recover quickly. I am no longer apprehensive about opening my Traeger to get a quick temp or flip the meat etc. This is most effective on longer cooks after the Briquettes have really had some time to soak up some heat. They stay in place when the grill is moved around and will last for the lifetime of the grill. 50 was more than sufficient to cover the best areas in the bottom of my Pro 34, one of the larger sized grills. I see a lot of reviews mentioning the use of these briquettes in gas or even charcoal grills, but they are a surprisingly invaluable addition to pellet grills as well, and at a low cost to boot. This is an excellent product that I heartily recommend, 5/5 stars.
