Alfa AWUS036ACHM 802.11ac WiFi Range Boost USB Adapter

I ordered this because it works with Kali Linux and is capable of going into passive listening mode and so much more. It's a great choice on a budget for some security "testing". It performs magnificently when paired with a Yagi antena!

Exeptional card. Monitor mode and packet injection supported out of the box. Tested on Kali and Arch with black arch apps and repos configured. Probably I will get another one. If you are looking to "practice" and lear about wireless auditing put your money on this card and forget anything else from Alfa network.

This adapter works straight out of the box on Kali Linux 2024.4. Monitor mode works great and very good range, I was testing BSSID's around 80m away.

March 2025 product worked. I was able to plug it in directly into a windows machine running virtual box. It connected to a kali VM. No drivers or anything else to install.

No cumple con la especificacion que dicen otros comentarios. No es compatible para hacer monitoreo de redes, No se puede usar con Kali para hacer pentest. Ya que tiene el chipset MediaTek (VID 0E8D), no Realtek RTL8812AU/8814AU, y no soporta modo monitor/inyección en Linux/Kali.

Moving into a trailer, this wireless adapter easily pulls Wi-Fi from the house. A hotspot network is then created for my 3d printer. It also picks-up all the neighbor's Wi-Fi for several blocks. Pretty amazing low-cost gadget. Forget an Internet Extender, just plug-in one of these. Highly Recommend.

Bought to use with Kali Linux (tested with 2022.04) which I run virtually in Virtual Box and it has worked without problems and did not need to install any drivers. Monitor mode is supported and works as well.
