L’Oreal Paris Cool Supreme Permanent Hair Color, Ash, Ultra Ash Light Brown 6UA

This color is amazing on my hair. It covers the grey fully and because it is Ultra Ash, it doesn't turn my hair reddish. I have used this color for many years and it is very natural looking. It applies very easily and doesn't smell like some hair colors on the market. Very good product!

Worked well and covered grey. I used it with a 30 volume developer. For those who don't know, if you buy a lighter color than your hair is currently, it will not turn out like the photo on the box (unless you are only going a shade or two lighter) because the developer that comes in the box is not strong enough to lift that many levels. The darker the hair is to start, the more levels it has to go through to get to blonde. Red is one of the levels, and gold is another, next is yellow, then blonde. Even ash colors won't come out ashy if one is trying to go too light. Recommend buying 30 or 40 volume developer to use with the toner no matter what color or brand you're using if you want to lighten more than one step. I used 30 volume developer with medium ash blonde 8UA and it came out a shade darker than the box. Next time, I'll use 40 volume developer and expect it will lift to the color on the box. I am starting with light ash brown. Anyone starting with anything darker than that are not going to get their color lifted enough with a box developer. Hairdressers use 30 and 40 volume developer to get the results they do. A hairdresser told me to get some stronger developers for doing it at home from a box.

I have been coloring my own hair for many years using loreal haircolor and always loved my results but this shade was a shock I wasn't expecting this shade to come out so dark I was no longer in the blonde family my hair was light brown with an awful green tint and I hated it. I've always used a beige or ash blonde shade to ward off gold and red but this shade is absolutely false, if you want to remain with a shade of blonde don't use this shade. I had to wait until it faded and I helped it along with clarifying shampoo to get back to a blonde shade because no way will I ever bleach my hair. This shade should be recalled!

The chemical smell is acceptable for me, kinda nicer than going to a salon. The smell was not that strong and that impressed me. Color result was very good. I love it right away after shampooing and drying. I don't feel that my hair is damaged and it is still soft as usual. There is purple shampoo and conditioner in the box which is very nice. I don't have irritation for this hair dye kit. I may change to order type of hair dye from L'oreal. I ordered 2 boxes but I used only 1 box as I have thin and straight hair. However, it doesn't cover gray hair. So i gave 4 stars for that reason.

Suuuuper color ! I actually mixed it with 6UA and it turned out to be a perfect base for highlights. Even if you do not wish to have highlights , it is a true ash! No brassiness (we love that right?).

I've been coloring my hair with box dye for decades. I am 100% grey at this juncture and need to color every 3 weeks or so. My hair tends to pull brass so I have been using color with ash tones. THIS is my landing page. I don't pull any brass with this product and the color suits my skintone perfectly. This product is advertised to cover grey hair 100%, but sadly that was not true for my hair. I waited until I dyed my hair twice (5 weeks ago, and again yesterday) before leaving a review and my grey hairs still weren’t covered 100%. I’d say I have about 50% coverage or they just blend better with this hair color than my natural hair color. 3 stars given based on the lack of full grey coverage as this is the reason I colored my hair to begin with. My hair is armpit length. I purchased 2 packages of color to make sure my hair was fully saturated with color both times. 2 packages were a little more color than I needed, but I don’t feel 1 package would have been enough since I was coloring my hair without assistance. I didn’t want to miss any spots. I applied this product to virgin, untreated hair. I chose to color my hair after not doing so for 10 years because I noticed more and more grey hairs popping up on my head- too many to pull out haha. My hair was a medium ash brown prior to coloring it the first time with no red at all. Pros: easy to use, great shine, long lasting color. Neutral: not “brassy” but this color brings out the hidden red undertones in my hair: they are very visible when I’m in natural bright light/outside. I had no red in my hair prior, but understand that everyone’s hair reacts differently based on their own undertones. There is a strong chemical smell that last about 48 hours, but that was expected to me, I’ve never used a hair dye that didn’t smell. Cons: does not cover grey 100% by far.

I love L'Oréal box dye. This color, Ultra Ash Medium Blonde, is beautiful after several washes, as it begins MUCH darker than the box shows. Still, it's pretty, and you can see your highlights through the color (if you have any). After a few washes with purple shampoo, it will lighten up. The picture is fresh after the dye, not very blonde. This is the second time I've used this color, though, and the first time actually came out way better (the pic with my hair curled). Not sure why it went so dark the second time, but this was after using a lighter color months before. Overall, it is hydrating and doesn't dry your hair. Good if you are on a budget and can't afford the salon prices.
