Beautifully illustrated. Our 4 YO enjoys it.

I loved this book as a child and love sharing it with my kids. There’s always something new to discover in the pictures, even for adults. It shows images that make you think of aspects of the flood you may never have considered before.

The visual storytelling of Noah and the Flood is fabulous. Lots of humor and pathos. Good storytelling without a lot of political correctness and preaching. We need more authors/illustrators of children's books like Mr. Spier.

The happy and humorous tone of this book will make it appealing to any child, whatever the family's religion. The only text is at the beginning and it is a charming translation of a poem that summarizes the story of Noah. The poem is delightful in and of itself- Spier did a great job of translating. The illustrations are then left without text, which is very refreshing, since there are so few picture books nowadays. I enjoy leisurely paging through this book with my young daughter, talking about the pictures in and of themselves, as pieces of art and as pictures that tell a story. I feel that the pressure is off in terms of trying to finish a sentence or a story when there is no text there. In addition, this book is appropriate for Muslim families as well, since the illustrations (and beginning poem) are sufficiently vague as to accommodate for the small differences in the telling of the story in the Qu'ran and the Bible.

the illustrations are beautiful. however, i wish it actually told the story from the bible. i got this book because it was on the peaceful press preschool list and unavailable in my town at the library so i didnt know what to expect. 5 stars for beautiful illustrations & excited to use for homeschooling… however 1 off bc its just not what i expected

We've heard the story of Noah's Ark a thousand times. This book tells the story with (almost) no words, but with beautiful pictures. Perfect for very young children but also older ones who can appreciate the detail. The illustrator is very gifted in telling a story purely from pictures. This was a repeat purchase. A great book!

This book is meant for kids, but I think I like it more than my almost-3-year old. The artwork in this book is so thoughtfully created and it really brings the story to life! It shows the reality of what Noah and his family really endured in preparing for the flood, living through the flood inside the ark with thousands of animals, and what all that must have looked like! We see all these beautiful, crisp, clean artistic drawings and paintings of noah's ark--so peaceful and every little thing perfect. Well, if you have to care for all those animals for several months inside a big boat, I doubt everything would "feel" perfect and beautiful. Yes, Noah was very devoted to God and following His instructions, but that doesn't mean it was easy. That's like our lives--we follow God's will for our lives, but that doesn't mean everything will always be perfect or without struggles. This book seems to depict the reality of the flood in the best illustration form I have every seen. You will not regret adding this book to your home library! It is beautifuly executed artwork and even includes some humor!
