Install wasn't too hard, a bit difficult to hide it all in the cavity behind the system but doable. Install video cuts off at what seems to be the halfway mark but the included colour picture instruction manual is easy to follow. Setup once installed is easy, sound is slightly degraded but not to a major or really noticeable extent unless direct comparing after Install. Definitely worth the money provided the longevity holds up.

Works perfectly, easy setup, the connectivity is great, turns it on instantly the moment you turn on the car, only downside is that Siri constantly turns on by itself and it doesn’t mute the music when you talk to her. Everything else flawless!

Exactly what I need! Works perfectly for my 2016 Q5

Purchased this after doing a ton of research on how to add CarPlay to my US-model 2014 Audi Q5 TDI. mine originally came with the MMI 3G so this is the unit that is compatible. Installation was easy (be sure to buy radio removal keys) but did take a few tries to get all of the new wiring and the control box to fit behind the factory CD player. Hint - there’s a gap above the AC controls that ultimately let me get it all to fit inside. Anyone who has ever installed a new head unit in a car should have no problems getting this installed. I routed the WiFi antenna and USB cord down into the passenger footwell area and am mainly using my phone connected via USB. The controls work perfectly! Even better than expected. If you’ve ever used a newer Audi or a Mazda with CarPlay it works just the same with the dial control. One tip: enable “use car Bluetooth for phone calls” in the settings for the CarPlay adapter and you won’t have any microphone issues making calls. Also, if you find navigation volume too low when listening to music, adjust the volume using the cars volume control WHILE Apple Maps are giving directions to adjust the volume for voice guidance. This makes my nearly 10 year Audi feel like I have all the features of a brand new one! Why did I wait so long to buy this?

Install was easy, setup took a couple YT videos to nail down the right settings. It works great, I get in the car and it loads Waze and Spotify NP, but not having a touch screen is really detrimental. Controlling the interface with the Audi control knobs it a real PITA. I don't think the AA interface works well without a touchscreen, I have to stop myself from touching the screen every time i want to change something. I would still recommend this to my friends but I would tell them get the one that comes with the larger 8.9" replacement screen.

I was ecstatic as anything for this to arrive, as I bought a stick shift A4 but gave up Carplay for it. This kit is good for even those who become very frustrated with projects with lots of different steps (guilty) Few tips: -you will need the radio key, it is sold on amazon (you can remove them after by pressing the metal tabs on the side of the radio, before pushing it back in) - i have no use for them so i am probably going to return them -take your time -check that everything works before you put everything back in -the best place for the new module in that very very small space is behind the a/c control panel, which you will have to remove (the book gives no instruction) - there are two holes underneath the a/c panel, use something like a small screwdriver to gently pull it out on both sides -disconnect the radio completely, plug in all of the cables to the module, run your antenna & usb cable, then begin plugging in the module first to the a/c panel, find the placement for the module, then connect the audi radio back, test it with it still out, then if all is good, gently push the entire radio assembly back in. this methodology would’ve saved me lots of time having had to go back and find where to fit the module when everything was already connected -feed the wi-fi antenna & usb cable thru the driver side interior paneling, it looks best & is very easy to access -the clips on the radio will not come out without first pushing out the red tabs -with the carplay system, for iphone specifically, make sure your iPhone is connected to the stereo via wi-fi and that wi-fi is enabled, it will connect bluetooth and then not connect to carplay, which confused me until i realized it must also be connected to wi-fi to work review of the product: i love how it is integrated into the factory mmi, the airplay feature, and how customizable things are. some people complained about the awkward navigation thru the mmi system, but mazda and other brands used such methods on their carplay systems from the factory. i find no problem with it. some things i do not like: the wifi antenna tape is very very bad, you will need double sided tape to cleanly affix it to the interior panel, the airplay requires a very good wi-fi connection to work well and the antenna is not very strong, so it needs to be very close.

This item was purchased about a year ago but has failed to operate reliably. The unit, from almost the beginning would not connect or the screen would freeze on the menu screen or would flash between the menu screen and the map display. This situation occurs about half the time when I use the system. Repeated attempts to connect with the supplier technical support has resulted in either completely ignored requests for service or a denial that the products was provided by them even though I selected to the supplier link provided in the Amazon product page. I've since given up on receiving any support or recourse for this unit but I wanted others to be aware of the product quality and the customer service abilities/willingness of the company selling this item. Judging from the number of review stars, it seems others are experiencing the same except in a few cases. I will say, that when the unit functions, it is nice and works with the existing controls of my Audi Q5.

Love this. Long overdue purchase. Easy to install with various YouTube videos out there. Can do that and fully customize it within an hour. Based on the instructions I was worried that the rear view OEM camera would require extra complicated installations (because I had a manual transmission) but luckily that did not end up being the case. So far only one day in but works flawlessly so far - very happy.

Shipped very quickly and the CarPlay works as intended. It was a bit tricky with installing and having everything fit, but with some videos I was able to put it all together in about 2 hours. The installation instructions are pretty good but they could be a bit more descriptive. The dashboard removal video seemed short - only shows you how to remove but could have included how to put everything back together. I also figured out that you don’t need to have some cables connected like the USB one if you have a reverse camera from factory. That would have been helpful to know, but again figured that out myself. Some people had talked about other CarPlay systems not working great with the B&O sound system but mine was fine. Phone calls also had no issue. I’m hopeful that all of this remains without issue!

An absolute MUST HAVE! Phenomenal product. Despite the instructions being in broken English and abysmal, if you have the slightest electrical inclination, it’s hard to mess up. Audio quality doesn’t suffer either, and the retention of the OE system with this added CarPlay system is amazing to have. Wireless connection every time without failure, no issues. 10/10 product, very snappy and responsive too. Instructions 5/10, also, please update your installation “guides” you provide via QR Code on YouTube
