Genuinely inspirational.
I’m not always a fan of list-type books (‘100 Places to See Before You Die’ etc), because they are usually quite scant on information, or just fairly predictable in terms of the recommendations being made. This Epic Hikes book is a bit different though, essentially being a series of mini essays from people who’ve actually done the hikes in question. Because there are multiple authors the writing style and quality does vary a bit, but that’s actually part of the charm for me. I also love the theming (for example walks based around geology, wine, modern architecture, via Ferrata, pilgrimages, canal towpaths and so on). Good range of difficulties, from challenging peaks to easy urban. The maps aren’t detailed enough find your way, so the book serves as initial inspiration, and you’ll be wanting to top up with OS maps or the like for when actually out and about. But I was genuinely inspired by the writing and now really want to do a Danish design walk, forest bathing and Dutch windmill trail. It’s specific to Europe which is also great given the current high cost of long haul flights, and the remaining COVID restrictions in some Asian destinations - you would be able to plan most of these walks without much trepidation or risk. Also recommended as a Christmas fireside read when you just want a little bit of escapism.

Lots of interesting route guides to many footpaths in Europe
A great book if you're planning to walk some in Europe, or even if just armchair touring.

Excellent for planning exciting hikes across Europe
A VERY good selection of hikes across Europe. I'm only sad that I'm too old to complete many of them. The hiking equivalent of a superb menu in a superb restaurant!!

Beautiful book
A geat present 👍

The book is rather UK-centric; also, it seems to be written for people who approach hiking with a touristy mindset, rather than for hikers who want to discover new trails.

The selection of content is solid and the book is good at what it does. The problem is that it is more like a list of destinations. Feels a bit like a product catalogue you would get from a tourism agency. There is no detailed guide about any trail and the amount of practical information is minimal. Even when it comes to pictures, they favoured fancy full page pictures rather than adding more visual detail. As others mentioned, this targets conventional tourism rather than hiking enthusiasts. It is useful for discovering new potential locations for your next adventure, but that's about it. You will have to look for more detailed information elsewhere. What's ironic is that lonely planet's regular guides about countries or regions, while being targeted at regular tourism, do include much more practical information about road trips or even hikes. This is more the kind of book you would find on a hotel lounge or have in your living room to entertain guests.

O livro chegou danificado, mas a embalagem estava em boas condições. Lamentável, pois é para oferta.

This book is great if you are looking for ideas on how to do a walking/hiking tour in Europe! I shows different walking tour itineraries for all different skill levels, organized from the start of the book so you know ahead of time which paths to look for. This book is so inspiring! The one thing I would say is that the text details, while helpful for when starting to plan or look for ideas for your trip, are pretty minimal. Enough information is giving for you to find the location you want to go to and do more research, and the photos are a huge selling point in deciding where to go and what the scenery will be like! A great book to gain travel ideas upfront and get excited to do more detailed planning down the road!
