Legos plus Minecraft, what more can you ask for?
Gift for one of my grandchildren. 5 stars: why? 1st, because its LEGOS! My grandkids love Legos, & I love Legos, too. 2cd: Its Minecraft! Anything Minecraft is a hit with all of my grandkids, it is their favorite game of all time. There are times when I don't love Minecraft as much as they do, like when they have other responsibilities, but don't want to quit playing this game. All in all, this is a great gift, they can work with their hands, use their imagination and creativity. Only one thing better for them, in my opinion, and that is being outdoors, which is not always possible in our climate, so, yes, 5 stars. (Oh, if you're wondering, we still teach our families about responsiblity...)

Minecraft fans will go NUTS for this!!!
These are great for Minecraft fans...they will go nuts for this set. Just a warning to adults who do the buying....this set is extremely small, about the size of a small tissue box. It is fairly pricey, and it may not make sense to us, but the Minecraft fan in your family will absolutely love this set and the other micro sets. Despite its size, there is a lot of play times with this set, unlike other sets that you just build and let it sit there. They will be actively using this, playing with it, and rebuilding it in different ways.

My son's favorite Legos to date
What is Minecraft? Minecraft is a computer game where you mine minerals and raw materials (or gather them) in order to be able to craft certain things in the game, like food, torches, raw materials. You use the raw materials to make things like farms, houses, mine carts, and a ton of other things. The game is "open" in that when you start playing, you can do and do pretty much anything you like (subject to having crafted the necessary tools) and the charm comes in being creative and making massive structures / towns / dolls / whatever. The fun is heightened even more when you get friends involved! Each thing that can be built is made from blocks of fixed dimensions. In many ways, Minecraft is the digital Legos of our children's era. You probably know what Legos are. What this set does to tie them both together beatifully - other than theming the Legos to match - is that it includes a large number of peg caps so that all the levels of elevations, etc can be flattened off at the top edges rather than having pegs sticking out. When a bunch of blocks are next to each other, all with appropriately colored caps upon them, the similarity to the video game is pretty stunning. And because of this synergy, this otherwise so-so set becomes a set that makes my son very very happy. To him, that one simple thing has completely opened his Legos to a whole new world. In fact, he's now talking about ordering more capping pieces on their own just so that he can make all sorts of other Lego minecraft creations beyond what the box offers. I highly recommend this for those who like Legos and like Minecraft. It blends beautifully.

Perfect for Lego/Minecraft Fanatics
My son, 7, loves Legos and he loves Minecraft ... So these Minecraft-licensed Lego sets were a natural fit for him. He's got them all now, and they have pride of place on his bookcase, instead of being relegated to the Lego table, like most of his completed, and not yet destroyed sets. He loves all the little Minecraft-specific touches that I, as a video-game clueless mom, just do not get. Parents should be aware that these sets are super small. The size of the box is about half that of a small shoe-box, and the sets themselves, once assembled, form cubes even smaller than that. They also feature a lot of micro-size Legos ... Including a lot of those teeny, tiny fingernail thin ones that are about 1/8" x 1/8". Taken that way, it's hard to imagine these sets as a good value, but seeing how much my son enjoys both assembling and collecting these special sets, they feel worth it to me.

Lego Minecraft Micro Worlds are pretty neat
This review is for LEGO Minecraft The Nether 21106 Given as a gift, recipient loved it. Lots of smaller pieces so the 10+ rating is accurate although the recipient was 8 and got it done with some help. Unfortunately this has been discontinued so it now costs almost twice as much to purchase thus the ding on the value for money. Had we paid actual in-store purchase price (when it was still available), I would have given the value rating 5 stars.

Great Chrismast present for my 7 year old!
I had not seen these in stores, and per others reviews I knew to expect a small sized box with 400+ pieces. And sure enough a very tiny box filled with very small pieces arrived. My son loves Legos and a huge Minecraft fan! So even though it was a challenge he was able to put it together along the other two Minecraft sets. It does come with a few spare pieces incase you loose any, being that their very small its not uncommon to have your vacuum take a few. Over all very pleased with the kits, and its Minecraft partnership is awesome! Hope to see more kits.

Great Lego Micro Kit
I love this kit and want to try to address some of the negative reviews here - they all seem to be from people who complain it is too small and too expensive. First of all, this is a Lego MICRO set. Micros are a new type of Lego that is way smaller (in scale) than the regular Lego's. So you have Lego Duplo - Lego - Lego Micro in that size order. When I order a regular Lego set, I don't complain that I didn't get a box as big as the Lego Duplo blocks! Also, as a Micro set, they rate it for kids 10 years and older. Don't buy this for your 5 year old and then complain that its too tough for him/her! Secondly, this contains 400 pieces. That is more than the regular Lego boxes priced around $40 contain (280 pieces in example). I think its clear that the price goes mainly with the quantity of the pieces, not with the size of the pieces. I expected a tiny miniature kit that would recreate the Minecraft world and be a bit challenging to put together for my son and me. And I feel I got exactly what I had hoped for!

La caja es pequeña, y en comparacion con el resto de cosas que hace lego yo creo que no merece la pena, pero al crio le gusto

I purchased this for my 5-year god-son so it's a bit advance for his age but his mom tells me it keeps him very busy. He loves legos and he loves Minecraft so it's a perfect combination.
