Over the years I have tried many brands of guitar care products, from cleaners and polishes to fretboard conditioners. Most of them have worked reasonably well, but I always come back to Dunlop products for a variety of reasons. First, they are reasonably priced and are usually cheaper than most of the other big brand names. They provide a consistent, reliable product that always works as expected rather than rely on gimmicks to sell their products. I get a quality product for a fair price. They offer their products in package deals where you can buy 2, 3, or more of their products boxed together which makes it easy to build a complete guitar care and maintenance kit. Or you can buy the products individually to get exactly what you need. Currently I only keep 3 care products in my kit; this fingerboard conditioner, the formula 65 polish, and the string cleaner/lubricant, all from Dunlop. That's all I need to keep my guitars looking nice and working well. Any additional products I need such as contact cleaner for the electronics or a graphite based lubricant for use on the string contact points at the nut and bridge, are things I usually already have on hand for use on other things like household electronics. This Dunlop fingerboard conditioner has always worked well on my rosewood fret boards. It leaves them with a nice semi-glossy sheen that is smooth to the touch rather than a tacky/sticky feeling that some products can leave. I like to clean off any gunk that builds up in the cracks and crevasses or around the frets using a piece of cloth or Q-tip. Then I like to work the conditioner in slowly a little at a time , giving it time to absorb in between coats. After a few coats I get an even coverage without blotches or dry spots. I like a well oiled fret board but I am careful not to over saturate the wood because that can cause problems with swelling of the wood or fret sprout over time. This conditioner makes it easy to achieve the even coverage I'm looking for. It really gives it a nice feel and gives it a visual depth which really shows off the color and beauty of the wood grain. The Dunlop fingerboard conditioner works great on other types of woods as well. These days many guitars are being made with fingerboards made out of alternative woods due to the lower availability of old growth rosewood. Some of these alternative woods include pau ferro, indian laurel, merbau, jatoba, ovangkol, multiple species related to ebony, and a few more. I would confidently use this conditioner on any of these raw, unfinished woods which require an oil based conditioner. I have an acoustic guitar with ovangkol fretboard and have had one with laurel in the past. I've gotten the same good results with those woods as I have had with my rosewood fret boards. I've bought this product from local music shops, national chains, and internet only dealers in the past. This time I was shopping for multiple items on amazon and fret board conditioner was on my shopping list. This product was out of stock at many places I've previously bought it from. I found a few listings for it on amazon and Chicago Music Exchange had it in stock and at the lowest price. I made my order and between CME and amazon I received my items very quickly and it was well packaged. I was very happy with this purchase.

What an amazing product. Look forward to the semi annual guitars cleanup because this is the highlight at the end of it. Seemed pricey but you realize you need and end up using only a little each time and it lasts forever (>2years). Absolutely love this and would be heartbroken if this ever became unavailable. I had bought it for Rs. 650 not for 3k as it is listed for at the time of writing review.

I really like this conditioner. The bottle makes it super easy to apply with no mess or fuss. Simply rub it on with the built in cloth bottle topper, wait a minute or so then wipe it off with a clean lint free micro fiber cloth. Do not put it on to heavy as you just want to light coating to help add some moisture and protection to the wood. Though I love it and it works well, it is very pricey at 9.00 for 2 ounces when you consider you can pick up a 12 or 16 ounce bottle of good quality lemon for around 15 bucks. But maybe this is that much better.
