Spillage
I received the pure vanilla extract; however, the bottle arrived open and the color of the product appears different from what I am familiar with. I have purchased this same item before through a different source, and it normally arrives sealed with a consistent color. By the way, the box was did not show any tampering any bands. Due to the condition in which the product arrived, I am not comfortable using it. I would appreciate assistance with a replacement or refund.

Quality and taste
Absolutely delicious. The best pure vanilla Extract. The aroma is unbelievable. It keep fresh for many month in its original glass bottle. I highly recommend it for all your baking needs.

Elixir is not what you'd expect
This is not a typical vanilla extract. I'd say Elixir is more suitable for bitter coffee/chocolate creams with only subtle vanilla. I don't think it's usable for a traditional type of creams or any baking that requires a beautiful, sweet vanilla. It is very strong on alcohol.

Tastes and smells like rubbing alcohol
I thought the more expensive version would be comparable to the real Mexican version, but no it is not. Also you cannot return this item. The taste is absolutely awful and it hardly has any vanilla taste at all. In the photo I have the real Mexican version in a clear glass bottle, compared to this in a brown plastic bottle. This liquid is significantly lighter which means they slacked off on how many beans they used.

Doesn’t even smell like vanilla
My friend brought me back a bottle of this vanilla when she went to Mexico last year. It was so good so I was excited to find it on amazon when I was close to running out. I just opened the new bottle I ordered last week and it is TERRIBLE. It’s very light in color and smells of alcohol. What a waste of thirty bucks!

Bad quality
Do not buy. Old product. Color, texture and smell is off. And not elegible for returns.

Became moldy after 3 months
I was surprised how fast this product spoiled. After 3 months I used less than a quarter of it, and when I went to pour it I realized there was thick mold in the bottle and had to toss my entire recipe.
