Has anyone upgraded from the x2's to these? I am debating wich pair to buy as far as sound quality, battery, and comfort.

I did -- and I regret it. Hard to keep the Freedom earbuds in your ears - all internals were moved to the control/mic, so one side is much heavier. Battery life is more or less the same. Sound quality is slightly better, but they're much harder to fit and the iffy seal functionally makes the sound quality the same or slightly worse than the X2s, even if you're just on a walk or hiking. I REALLY wanted to love these headphones after dropping $200 on them, but they're in my bedside drawer and the X2s are back in my ears.

Has anybody tried these on under a full face motorcycle helmet?

I have tried them under a full faced helmet and without the helmet and either way they work really well for me. The memory foam work the best but can also dampen out the noise of your cycle. I bought these for the whole purpose of wearing them while riding just be cautious of the laws, if any, for riding with earplugs, headphones, Bluetooth devices etc. for the state you live in.

How is the call quality for the other party?

You kind of of have to speak loudly in order for the other party to hear you. Im going to try to repair to see if that helps. For me that seems to be the only issue i'm having with the Freedoms. I actually bought the very first headset from Jaybird. For lack of better words, they sucked. Since then i've tried both the Freedoms and the X2's and i've enjoyed the heck out of them.

Do these earbuds have a good seal? Will I be able to hear my surroundings?

It depends on the type of hearing tip that you use because it comes with two types (silicone and foam). The isolation is more balanced with the foam tip; with the silicone one you cannot hear anything from the outside, it even get to hurt a little bit because the suction that the silicone seal offers
