I’ll start by saying that there were 2 damaged pieces when I opened the box (one panel was split, and the upper cover had some separation at the edges). I sent photos to the seller, got a prompt response, and they sent replacement pieces right away (in fact sending more than was needed to “make it right”). Very happy with the customer service. As far as the product, the quality seems excellent. I purchased 2 hives last year from Hoover Hives, and although I was satisfied with the quality, I decided to give this one a try based on the reviews and the pre-drilled holes with screws for the assembly of the boxes. This made assembly SO MUCH quicker and easier—the boxes fit together smoothly and quickly, and I feel like these will hold up nicely with screws (the Hoover hives used nails in the dovetails, and I had to pre-drill holes to keep the edges from splitting). Had no issues with this hive. Another reviewer posted a 2-star review with pictures of the frames splitting, but I had no issues assembling the frames. I highly recommend that you PRE-DRILL the frames before nailing them together (and use wood glue)—the wood is light and pieces are thin, so of course it will split if you don’t pre-drill. This is the most tedious part of the assembly, and It would be nice if these came pre-drilled as well, but I don’t know of any sellers that offer that. Once assembled, I could tell no difference between these frames and the ones I had from last year. They seem sturdy and should hold up fine. The panels all had a nice layer of wax, as did the foundation pieces. Everything fit together nicely. Overall very pleased, and plan to order future hive supplies through this seller.

Absolutely stunning and solid. Easy to put together and very durable. Full size what you would expect only way better!!

First off, the the price was the lowest out of all comparable hives and was the easiest to fit together without splitting the boxes. The wax coating isn't super heavy but it is definitely enough to protect it from the elements. I messed up and screwed all my screws in before I made sure it was square...so I had to take the 1 box apart and do it all over again...it is now square and fits the other pieces perfectly. The frames are pretty repetitive, use wood glue for the joints for the frames. The First hive I bought was the hoover hive and then I bought this one...in my opinion, this box is way better for the price and craftsmanship. I got to use a 20 dollar coupon which was pretty sweet! Also, it does not Come with a mouse guard...so if that's a deal breaker, just buy one separately.

I purchase two di8fferent kits of this style from two different vendors for the purpose to compare them each other. The hive and components look to be pretty solid. Plenty of wax on the boxes and parts. The inter cover was not notched for a top entrance so I will have to notch that myself. The joints are solid and the assembly was very easy and the wax made the seams seal up very well. The one draw back I found for both the kits was the shipping boxes. The carboard box was barely strong enough to hold all the components in the box. The shipping box should be a heavy box because the shippers are not gentle with these boxes and they had wholes punched into them. They might want to consider strapping the boxes also because when I open the box it just fell apart.

Good quality cedar beehive

This is my first season with this hive, so long term quality assessment and durability is limited. The accuracy of the joinery is stop on. The dovetails were all perfect. They are slightly tight due to the wax dipping, but then it aides with lubrication. Wood color is beautiful. Handle cuts and all four sides. Frames and foundation are very nice. Assembly is very easy. Used extra glue and screws which I predrilled on the frames. The metal telescoping top is okay less lesser quality The same with the inner cover, which does not have a notch. I am trying to set up 2 more hives this season, will buy 2 more of these.

I use lots of honey so decided to get a beehive. I ordered the MayBee 10-Frame Langstroth beehive that was dipped in 100% Beeswax in 4/2025. Upon arrival one of the parts was broken. When I let the seller know, and verified that the part was actually broken, they quickly replaced it. I began using the beehive soon after putting it together. It went together easily with the instructions provided, and I haven't had any issues with it after 8 months use. I would certainly purchase from MayBee again.

This hive is a basic set-up to get a colony started. The components all arrived as described and were easy to assemble. I appreciated the pre-drilled holes for the hive boxes, as well as the generous coating of wax on the outside. Although the medium box (honey super) was broken upon arrival, they were very responsive to the issue and sent a replacement immediately. I would order this item again.
