Bought as a gift for my parents so no real clue on how this actually tastes but they haven’t complained about it? 😂

I'm giving a four, but it's really a 3 1/2. It doesn't taste like butter when you put it on popcorn. I bought it to put on popcorn so that the popcorn wouldn't get soggy, but I'm probably going back to regular butter. I'm sure it has a good shelflife and I'm gonna try it with other recipes like making a butter sauce with it or using it in cooking. It just didn't really work for popcorn for me. It's unsalted and it's very powdery.

I purchased this product for a backpack trip in the rockies, it seemed like the best way to get butter flavor. I tried it out at home, following the instructions to the letter, and decided it tasted like a cross between the little margarine packets you get at roadside cafes and movie popcorn butter. That worked for me. I used this in polenta, grits, oatmeal and to add richness to dehydrated meals. It worked out very well. You can't melt the final product and cook with it but it does add flavor and is lightweight. It will not magically turn your camp into a butter smeared paradise, but it will add a lot more flavor to your meals with very little weight!

Of course you won't be frying eggs with this however, using it in mashed potatoes or sprinkling it on steamed veggies it's DELICIOUS! Lasts a long time because it packs a powerful flavor with just a small amount. Much cheaper than grass-fed stick butter with the same benefits, (save that for your eggs). I'll be ordering this again because I am so pleased with the, flavor, price, packaging and benefits of eating a clean, no fillers added butter.

It is a great product when mixed with tomato powder, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, dill weed ground into powder, worchester powder mixed to taste. Tuck in a bit of just powdered butter and sea salt (to taste) under the skin and rub the outside with the first mix. If you like candy chicken skin you'll love this. I've added brown sugar, but the tomato is sugar enough for me.
