Great For Board Games (And Even For The Gym)
Awesome for board games! I've been looking all-over for something like this to help speed up games where analysis-paralysis is a bit of an issue. Really great at making it fair for everyone, while keeping the same moving.I absolutely love how turning/flipping the cube will automatically start the timer for the next player (without having to press any buttons). The multiple modes (ie. countdown/turn, countdown cumulative time/game, count-up, countdown + carry over leftover time etc.) are nice to have. Build quality is good. Looks great even when it's not in use and on the stand. Timer sound is loud enough to be heard even when things are getting rowdy, but not at all annoying - similar to the timer on a Timex watch.I bought a second timer as a gift for my friend. She does interval training at the gym, and was looking for a timer that had multiple downtown times, and didn't require a lot of button pressing. Apparently this unit fits her bill exactly as well - who knew! She absolutely loves it as well.

Works well, great game timer!
I ordered this game timer because our Catan games were taking too long. Some people, I won't name anyone, would take crazy long turns. It's easy to setup and use during the game. After ordering, I thought there has to be an app that will do the same, but oddly the apps leave much to be desired, and with auto lock, they are not very convenient. There are a few additions I would like to see in this unit with the timer + save option. It would be helpful f you could set a max turn time and/or max banked time.

Good weight and practically instant transition of timers when you ...
The cube just came in today. Wow, it is even cooler than the description! Good weight and practically instant transition of timers when you flip it from side to side. At first I thought this could only track up to 20 minutes per side. Nope, it's already tracking 1hr+ for me right now. Appears it could track up to 9hrs and 59 minutes for each side.My original reason for purchasing this was to better track the time I spend on different projects at work, including "unproductive" time. Should work very well with the pomodoro technique. I'm also planning on using it for workouts.Totally worth the money!!

Keeps things fresh!
This is a great addition to any board gaming group. I like the variety of modes that can be used depending on the type of game you are playing. Whether you just need to speed up a player who goes into analysis paralysis (time allotment per turn), or if you add risk/reward for being the fastest player (total time per player), adding a target for your whole group (game timer), or the list goes on. My only real complaint is after a game is completed (or even mid game), being able to analyse the results of the cube. The cube automatically resumes whatever setting it is on when you move it to a face up position, even if it was previously paused. (So if you want to see how everyone did, you have to keep it in an orientation as if it was on the stand, and move it around trying to see what scores people got.)All in all, it was fun to play with it and added a level of time to some games that have a tendency to drag on and on as people try to min/max their turns.

A way to get to a second game
This timer works as advertised. It will track up to six teams/players throughout a game with just a few moments set up. I spent more time reading the directions to pick a mode than I did to set it up. I can't say much for longevity, since I've only had this for a month, but it seems solid enough. If you want a timer for five or six people, I highly recommend this one. It was a welcome addition to our game night. While the description doesn't mention it, the timer will keep counting down past zero, depending on the mode.

Fixed our Analysis Paralysis issues!
Thing thing is *awesome* for when you are playing some strategy board game that has a high probability of analysis paralysis. Our group always has one guy who takes forever on his turns. Bought this. Problem fixed. In fact, it added a bit of intensity to the game because no one wanted to be the person who lost on time or used more time than anyone else. An additional, positive, side affect is that when it isn't your turn, you feel obligated to think about what you are going to do on your turn in order to not use a bunch of time.Bottom line, we won't play any strategy games without this timer ever again.

Can't hear the beep
The entire concept of this cube is great. The physical package is well made. However, the audible "beep" is close to inaudible. This timer might be fine for chess played in a quiet area, or other games played in a library. But for use in a social setting where there might be side conversations going on during play the timer will expire with no one noticing until someone looks at the clock and sees that time has passed. What's worse is I contacted the manufacture and they punted back to the merchant. Like anyone at Amazon would know. If anyone reading this has experienced this, please comment. The low battery (although brand new) icon was not active but I replace the batteries with brand new fresh batteries - no change. A frustrating gift to have received which was not inexpensive. Don't buy unless someone resolved the "library beep".
