Princeton Brush Aqua Elite Synthetic Kolinksy Travel Set

Loved this brush but forgot it in my water jar for 20 mins and the small wooden part got swollen and the wrapping around it burst. It shouldn't be so fragile

Love these and are really good

Took this Princeton Elite Travel Brush brush set to a plein air watercolor landscape week long workshop in Colorado. Had previously bought and was greatly disappointed in a Richeson brush set with very short handled but poor quality thin and spindly brushes. The Princeton synthetic sable Brushes were as good as my real Kolinsky sables, liked them very much, hold a good amount of water and bend and flex as I like. The #4,6,8 and #10 rounds are more than adequate as I rarely took more than a couple of brushes with me. With the larger selection, I did use 3 of them at a go. Used a thick rubber band to hold the case flat/together in my mini back pack. Magnets hold the case flap down, but did not want to take a chance on other items jostling it open. The case size is small enough for a pocket, handbag etc.The protective caps turn into handles for the brushes. The case folds open to hold the brushes in a upward sloping fashion or a flat on a level and they are easy to use in either position. After returning from the field, it is important to uncap and clean brushes and let dry in the opened case at days' end. Back home, used these for zoom class yesterday= convenient but also great quality. I know I will keep using the set for field work (next week!) and classes. Much better than the travel set up I rigged previously with existing brushes and a clear plastic sleeve meant for something else. I also tend to take too much to class so nice to have a 'grab and go" choice I can feel great about.

These are the most expensive brushes I've ever tried, having said that I am very impressed with them, they hold a lot of water and colour, very smooth to work with and snap back to shape with a great point with ease, they are lightweight so easy to use and carry,I haven't been out on location painting yet but looking forward to using them when weather is a little dryer/warmer,they come with a nice leather case to keep them safe and in one place,which makes them easier to find when needed, and plastic sheaths to keep them clean,dry,and in good shape, they are synthetic Kolinsky sable so perfect for vegans, vegetarians,and anyone thinking of animal welfare, come in sizes 10,8,6,4, so probably all the sizes you'd ever need while out and about, personally I think they are great value for the money, and great quality, they look good, feel good, very well made, they should last a lifetime, (if looked after) the size of each brush is perfect and feel right at home in your hand, they are smooth easy to use and don't make your hand feel tired like some heavier brushes can,so you'll want to use them again and again, the application of the paint is spot on as is the build quality, I'm sure I could find more to say about Princeton brushes, but I'll leave you to find out for yourselves.

These travel brushes get the job done. They are lovely but depending what brush feel you have gotten use to, this might not be the set for you. Restriction stroke is present the bristles are not super soft you have to do more work to gain certain effects. Overall, this set is not bad for the cost.

What a wonderful brush. Such a fine tip. You only need the single brush for a Travel or urban sketching.
