I love these. They have never malfunctioned on us. We use them every night to set up their breakfast so they are not waking us up at 5am lol. Great for leaving the kitties home for a night. The battery life has been impressive. I bought ours about 3 months ago and have yet to change the batteries. I do think it is good value, but note that the material is cheap. I’m not sure if it would survive if we dropped it, but honestly for the price and for how simple it has made our life I highly recommend it. So easy to use and dependable.

Update: I bought this back in May and it’s July, and for some reason the timer stopped working :( I changed the battery, but it’s disappointing that it stopped working— my cat sadly starved for 8+ hours while I was at work. My cat eats on a schedule, 6 times a day. I work a 10-6 so I’m not always home to give him his 1pm & 5pm meal. The timer does go all the way to 48 hours, but from my observation the ice block is already warm after 8 hours and my home room temperature is about 70°F. To the person who suggested putting a bell on the cover: GENIUS! And thank you for the idea. I used two of my cats bell toys and taped it on the top so he can hear it when it opens. Holding the food for 4-8 hours is no problem, I can’t really speak on anything longer since I haven’t tried or had a reason to. The food stays fresh and isn’t dried out. I add two ice cubes to the side where the food stays longer, just for a peace of mind! Works great, my cat learned how to use it the first day I left him home alone. The sound of the bell helps. Great value!!

Running 2 years, no problems, but... If you have a mischievous cat, you make need to make some alterations. The lids are flimsy and there's enough space for cat to get his claws under it and pry so cat would have ripped the lids off eventually. I had to build up a barrier between the lids with baking soda and super glue. The battery compartment has wiggle room, so the battery came loose from cat knocking it around. I put some stuffing in to fill the gap and taped it down. Otherwise, I change the batteries every 6 months and it's worked reliably every day. Just beware that the time you set on the dial may not be super accurate. On mine, if I set it for 7 hours, it opens closer to 8.5 hours later. You'll have to test yours, they're probably all a little bit different.

I absolutely love this feeder. The dial does not have preset detents so I can set it where I want it. It is easy to set an reasonably accurate time once you get the hang of it. It uses 1 battery, which is easily removable. There is one large ice pack that spans both trays and it stays cold longer than the other brands I have. The trays are very smooth and shiny, which makes cleaning them easy. Do not use anything abrasive or it will ruin the surface. There is a clip to connect the lids to open together if you need this feature. Overall, this is the best of the many different brands I have used.

So this cat timer bowl was a good idea, and nice try but they need to go back to the drawing board and design something that actually works the way it's is intended to. Unfortunately there is no way you could feed two cats with this double cat bowl at same time, it is highly unlikely that both lids would open at the same time. Timer numbers aren’t even correct. I set it on a even number and it still takes another 5-10 minutes-hours to open. The first one that I ordered one of the lids didn't open completely. The second one I ordered the left side would get stuck near the 0 point and would sit there for hours before opening, (this would only happen occasionally). So no I am on my fourth of these timer bowls and it is doing the same thing get stuck on the zero point, Or doesn't open when it should. Not sure why it needs 48 hours of timer on there; an ice pack is only going to last about 6-8 hours (you definitely need to buy an extra ice pack that way when one Comes out one can go into the freezer). They should make less hours and bigger numbers with 1/2 hour marks. Also, the weight of the machine should have been heavier. Unless you have a nonslip pad under the device, It will move around. I have mine propped on something to make it higher with non slip material under cat bowl. basically this cat bowl is garbage. So basically now I am mostly using the bowl to put the food in the night before and then I have to manually open it. It's less work than going to the refrigerator and getting everything out in the morning. Still just a useless machine very dependable never know if it's going to open or not open on time.

This pet feeder is a blessing! There have been so many times I've cut my day short just to get home to feed my fur-baby. Now I can set the feeder and know she's staying on her routine. And another great thing, she's not waking me at 5:30am anymore! She eats from the feeder and is content to watch the birds until I get up now. I've read other reviews about it not working well. There is a small learning curve - you have to set it to zero, shut the door completely, then twist the dial for the number of hours until the lid opens. Yes, it isn't to the minute but does the kitty really know that? I've read about other feeders that their cat learned to open it. This one will not do that, as the dial is pretty tight to turn. To me this is very well made, well thought out, and I'm glad I have it.

Simple to use, tricky to see if the battery is making the dial move but after a test run you know it does but a great option for over night or weekend trips away

I bought this as I was going to a wedding for the day and a friend had recommended getting an automatic feeder. My usual cat sitter was not available. I tried out the feeder a few times before the actual day it was needed and it worked perfectly (no pun intended!) As I was out the entire day, I set the two feeders at different times to ensure my cat had food all throughout the day. The timer was easy to use and it only needs one AA battery. I really liked the cooling block that slots easily underneath as it kept the food fresh all day. When I came home it had worked and my cat was happy and content. I would recommend buying an extra cooling block so you have one ready in the freezer ( which is what I did). Customer service from the company that supplied the product was excellent as I enquired about one of the parts as I thought one was missing (the white clip which sits next to the cooling block). It turns out that it is only meant to have one clip! I would highly recommend this product.
