Yummy licorice
I love these. My son gave me one for Christmas and I enjoyed it so much, I ordered 2 bags after I finished the first.

I Will Only Buy Basset's Brand From Now On
I bought a number of different British candies recently from Amazon, including different brands of Allsorts. I remember when I was a kid growing up in Maine that the Allsorts were significantly better in quality than what I can find these days at the local grocery stores in Utah. If I buy from grocery stores, the Allsorts are hard and look as if they've been through a war. The different colored layers "bleed" into each other and look like the manufacturer takes no pride in what they do. The flavor is mediocre. The many different brands of Allsorts I bought on Amazon were almost all identical in poor quality, including this one you're looking at right now. Additionally, I ordered Mini Allsorts and these guys sent me the standard size candies. And then, finally, there is the price. I'll admit, I didn't look at the size of the bag when I ordered them, but wow that's some serious price gouging. The unacceptable pricing became even more clear when I went to a local pharmacy that stocks British candies on their shelves. I bought from them the Bassett's brand of Allsorts. This clarified so many things for me, and I will not buy any other brand ever again. The Bassett's Allsorts I bought at the pharmacy came in a box with a clear plastic bag inside. Where this bag you're looking at right now is 200 grams, the ones at the pharmacy came with 400 grams. And where you're considering spending $12.70 for this 200 grams, I paid $7.99 for 400 grams. That's a huge difference. Double the quantity for over $4.00 less? And then on top of that, the Bassett's were exactly as I remembered growing up. They were soft, tasted great, and all of the colored layers were crisp and sharp. Side by side with any other version of Allsorts, they look as if they are sharp, high resolution versus the others that look like blurry low resolution. Why is it that we're paying $12.70 for a bag of low quality from the internet that has a larger customer base, and a single stand alone brick and mortar storefront with a micro-fraction of the traffic can get you better quality and twice as much for $7.99? The pricing is not just about different manufacturers. The pricing of the Bassett's in most cases is the same issue. I will say though, that there are some suppliers on Amazon who are selling Bassett's at a reasonable price. Just make sure you're paying about 56 cents per ounce.

Allsorts licorice
I purchased these mini allsorts several years ago. They weren't stellar then. But I thought I'd try them again. Sigh. They are super stale. Not a lot of flavor. Small bag. Not a good value. I cannot recommend them, then or now. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. I am a verified purchaser - not a paid reviewer. I have been doing honest, trustworthy reviews for well over 25 years with Amazon - posting thousands and thousands of reviews - which have been viewed over 8.2 million times to date. I am NOT a fake reviewer. BOTTOM LINE: I pay for all my stuff, just like you do - with hard earned dollars!
