I want this to sew on crocheted items.. It must not run colors.. Is this a postive choice

The colors do not run at all on MOST fabrics, and it takes years of repeated washings before they start to fade a little. The tip is fairly wide, so you cannot write anything very small that will be legible. If you are writing on a label that you will then sew on larger crocheted items, it would probably work; but the writing will not be very pretty. It is designed to be functional (labeling items for camp, nursing home, doing laundry and returning items to the correct family members, etc.)

does the sharpie have a matte or that classic "sharpie shine". I'm looking for a matte finish.

Conrad--i'm not sure how to answer your question. I believe it has the classic sharpie shine as u use it. But I purchased the pen to label my uniform clothing. I have dry cleaned these pieces since I used the marker and my name has not smeared. I hope this is helpful.

Does it stay on the tags in clothes?

Yes. I sometimes mark the tags in dark clothing where the marker won't show on the fabric and it stays. But it does begin to fade after many Washington, and it's best to launder the item first before marking, especially if you are marking the tag.
