The heat is on!
I purchased the ProCom ventless fireplace to reduce oil and electricity. This fireplace adds ambiance and piece of mind incase of a power outage. This can comfortably heat a 1500 square foot home. I do not have a blower installed on this fireplace. This unit burns approximately 50 to 55 gallons of propane every 30 days on the lowest setting. According to Google. The average temperature has been 28°F over the last 30 days in my area. This includes a high of 41°F and a low of -4°F, just to give you an idea. Therefore 55 gallons of propane was $1.92/gallon which equals $106 for 30 days. My electric bill decreased by $300. Yes, I'm not running electric heat or oil burner. No, the 1500 square foot ranch is not at 72°F. The average 30 day interior temperature is about 61°F. I could easily heat the home to 70°F plus if needed but I'm certain the gas usage would double. I'm very comfortable at a low setting. This unit was easy to install for me. I spent less than $120 on a 75 foot gas line including fittings and shut off valves. I had a regulator which costs less than $100. I imagine installation by a professional to be about +/- $1500, depending on your area. Bottom line, this ProCom fireplace functions as intended and i would buy it again. I've seen complaints of not re-lighting after the first season. My experience with numerous gas fireplaces and other gas equipment has been the same. It is sometimes better to keep the pilot lit throughout the year to reduce the chances of seasonal failure. The thermocouple is usually the issue from year to year on any gas system. And most importantly is keeping the unit clean and free of dust.

Great little heater
Great little heater in my basement room that puts out a decent radiant heat . I added a small fan to the rear of the stove to blow across the top and move heat out better in the room . Heats my house completely if I let it run all the time. . It does have a temperature sensor and works well turning on and off when needed.. I added a 120v receptacle behind the stove for the igniter power and the fan .. so no cords hanging out.

Elegant indoor ventless fireplace, cranks out heat
We purchased this Procom ventless stove fireplace to replace our old propane wall mount unit in our bathroom (about 150 sq feet). Overall we're very happy with this fireplace - it's easy to use, produces a lot of heat, and looks great. A few notable items on the backend of the install - Ensure you or your installer read the manual completely prior to install and comply with all local ordinances and safety regulation - Assembly is very easy, where you simply attach the feet to the unit with the included screws, remove the front grate temporarily by removing the two mounting screws, install the replica logs, and replace the grate - The logs are very light - I was expecting them to be heavy ceramic (like a coffee mug), however they're much lighter. I nearly discarded one with the separate box they came in because I didn't see it wrapped and taped to the inside. All the logs arrived intact - The fuel hookup for the stove is parallel with the floor. This was a slight issue for me, as the unit I was replacing had a hookup that was perpendicular. For propane, the unit uses the standard 3/8" flare fitting - Ensure your installer uses flare fittings and either brass or black pipe (not galvanized) and both thread tape (should be yellow thread tape, not the standard white) and thread sealant to ensure a proper seal/no leaks - When first firing up the unit, the regulator knob on the front of the unit needs to be held down in the "pilot" setting for 30-60 seconds to purge the gas line of air - When using the unit, it's recommended to either have a vent fan running in the room or a dehumidifier, as depending on how long you run it, it will produce some moisture from the combustion of gas The unit heats the space it's in within minutes and the automatic thermostat does its job and shuts off once the room reaches temperature. The unit seems well-built, and we haven't had to contact support. Should we do so in the future, I'll be sure to update this review.

DO… NOT… PURCHASE… FROM THIS SELLER
Packaging came out in chunks when I unboxed it. As expected for something costing less than $500, the construction is sheet metal being held together with screws. It must get super hot if it works. This should be really concerning because the wires for the electronics underneath are just kind of hanging everywhere, inside the body of the fireplace. Those are just a couple of things to watch out for if it works for you. The one I got did not work for me. By the way, make sure that you have a 100 pound tank with a two stage regulator. I had to borrow both and it still didn't work. Just a bad unit? Who knows. The product's low quality is just the tip of the iceberg. Dealing with the seller will make you wish Amazon itself didn't exist. First, they won't take their broken unit back. If they take it back, they want you to pay shipping which is around $200. If you don't accept that, they will give you a shipping label and have you send the unit to, in my case, Kentucky, where they don't have any warehouses. They will argue with you back-and-forth email telling you that you will not get a refund because you sent it to the wrong state even though they gave you the shipping label. They will deny that they g provided you with label and shipping instructions, and claim that Amazon did. This will go on for weeks. I happened to file a claim via the Amazon Disability Line program or else I would have been out 486 bucks and no fireplace to show for it. On top of having to pay drivers to take me and my giant box to the FedEx office three times. DO… NOT… PURCHASE…

Good electric free source of heat
It works and looks great, but only after combing the sketchy instructions to find the adjustment on the regulatory buried in the bottom of the unit needed to make it work on natural gas. It is setting on a level surface, but I had to put a half-inch pad under one foot so it wouldn't wobble. Considering the price, I recommend it.

Not CSA certified. Will not be installed by certified gas fitter. So far having issues returning as it takes time to get installed on site. Etc.
