Setup took less than five seconds, no pairing issues or extra steps. It worked right away, which is exactly what I wanted since that’s why I held off buying a replacement for so long. Functionally, it feels the same as the original and all buttons respond as expected. The only noticeable difference is that it doesn’t have the LG logo on the bottom, so it doesn’t look like an official LG remote. If you don’t care about branding and just want something that works immediately, this is a solid replacement.

This is a great remote for our LG TV. The remote may outlast the TV because it functions better than our TV. Batteries last a long time, months for us. I'm sure that depends on how many kids you have. Battery cover comes off a little easier than I prefer, otherwise its pretty great.

My remote stopped working and this OEM replacement works great right out of the packaging. No programming required, just throw in batteries and it works as it should.

this remote works fantastic! This is actually my second time buying the exact same one. The first one I bought a few years ago yes YEARS! After my TV remote stopped working I needed a replacement and found this one. I was a bit nervous. I thought it was gonna be a pain to set up. It was a matter of plugging it in and letting the TV do the work for the most part. When I bought the TV five years ago, it did not have the voice feature that this remote has. Saves me a bit of time when searching. It doesn’t always understand me, but it’s a lot faster than typing in all the words using the keypad with the up-and-down arrows. Of course it’s helpful too because it has the Netflix button and the Amazon prime button saving me a little bit of time to get around The first one I bought was great, except we kept dropping it on the tile floor all the time. We would tape it up and it would work. Then we drop it again and repeat. For some reason, somebody’s always tossing it and then missing it and it lands on the floor and another plastic piece would break off, but the thing would still work well eventually, it gave up the ghost when we were down to half the thing missing ! I was so glad to see that they still make this although it seems like it’s updated. When I plugged it in the TV recognized it and I did nothing else but let the TV do its thing and we were set! No hesitation this thing is worth it. Same with the TV, which is more than 6 years old and working great - even though now the same size is less than half the price ha ha

All it took was 2 AAA batteries and POOF! This universal remote connected immediately. I bought this remote because of the reviews stating it was easy to connect, and it did not disappoint! We all remember older universal remotes that required an aeronautical engineering degree to connect. And even then, the remotes didn't always continue to work. This remote is great and was so easy to use, especially for this non-techy individual!

I took a chance on this after seeing the price of the original LG one. My original LG remote stopped working out of the blue, with the light stuck on as if a button was stuck down. I took it to bits, cleaned it, replaced the batteries, re-paired to the TV but it didn't help so I resigned myself to replacing it. This one is identical to the original, except maybe slightly lighter? The magic pointer feature works fine as does the voice remote and I've found no issues using it with my 3 year old LG SM8050PLC. Hopefully I won't need to but would definitely buy again.

Our son lost the original remote, so we took a chance on this replacement and it worked perfectly. It functions just like the original with no issues at all. Super easy to set up and use. Great replacement option!
