Rothco Canvas Machete Sheath, 18''

I had a old machete that didn't have a sheath and thought I'd order this one. It's a perfect fit and well made for my purpose. Great value as well.

What I was hoping for when I purchased it heavy and doesn't bend like all the others.

I love the machete sheath, I used it for my Sheffield machete that my Father bought in the 1960’s at a war surplus store, I read other reviews and I worked through the problems that I read about. For one I made a cardboard and duct tape sheath that would fit into the canvas sheath and solved the wideness of the sheath and the thin canvas problem, the Rothco sheath is about 17 1/2 inches long so my makeshift cardboard and duct tape 18 inch sheath does stick out of the Rothco sheath about 1/2 inch but the black duct tape on my cardboard sheath makes it look OK and finally I used a Kabar Molle adapter to eithe hang it off a duty belt or on a backpack or with a sling. The issues with the sheath might also be corrected by using one of the plastic Vietnam era sheaths and modifying it to fit into the Rothco canvas sheath, of course you would be fine with just the Vietnam era plastic sheath but I just happen to favor the OD canvas look, there are of course other better sheaths on the market but for the price it is excellent with a few modifications and should last you for some time.

Looks nice and is sturdy. I am well pleased.

I wasn’t expecting a whole lot for $7.. I did want a sheath to protect the blade from damage.. I was quite amazed at the quality of sheath.. For $7 it is actually very well put together.. It will be quite do able for moderate carry.. Happy wit it..

This is a canvas sheath for a machete with a sharp blade. For occasional use and with care, it should last a long time..

The sheath fits good, and it’s perfect for my use. However, I paid 19.42 for it, and the tag that came attached to it said the price was 5.99, I think there is quite the profit margin there.

fit my 18" bladed machete perfectly, seems well made and durable. has a loop for a belt or strap to go through it
