It is a useful product.
I use this to reinforce a plastic sheet that was torn. The steel mesh looks nice, however its elasticity yield point is low: that is, it can return to its original shape only when being bent slightly. It will be deformed permanently when bent with tighter radius. Perhaps the mesh material is not a high-carbon steel or manganese steel, which is fine anyway as it is cheap. I put it between two plastic sheets with epoxy, and so far, it is surely stronger than the plastic alone under stretching tests. So, I still give it 5 stars for being a useful product for this application.

Vital component for repairing HDPE rain barrels
I bought six 65-gallon rain barrels years ago that got handled roughly during a major re-landscaping project. Several barrels developed cracks that leaked water. I used little cut pieces of masking tape to mark the top and bottom of the crack, both inside and outside of rain barrel. This proved to be vital during the final covering step, when the crack was no longer visible. I purchased these SS wire mesh screens and, also from Amazon, a Weller 6160 Smoothing Tip for my ancient soldering gun. I cut strips from 1-gallon black HDPE garden pots and used these as "welding rods". First, I cut the SS mesh slightly larger than the crack and placed it on an old piece of ceramic and used the heated Weller tip to melt and press molten HDPE into the SS mesh. This did not stick to the ceramic. I then used the heated Weller tip to weld the HDPE-filled mesh over the crack in the barrel. Finally, I fused more cut HDPE all over the mesh area. To be safe, I repeated this process on the inside of the rain barrel. 65 gallons of water is more than 500 pounds, and I doubt if my welds would have remained leak-free without the SS mesh integrated into the repair. NOTE: the melted black HDPE emits acrid fumes, and I wore an N95 mask and safety goggles during this process.

Good fine mesh.
Used a piece to strengthen and fill a gap of a missing broken part for a lid on a box for a tractor. Glad it was stainless steel we l.

Bought but didn’t need/use
I thought I would need this to weld some plastic on a plastic dock but ended up not needing it for the repair.

Fine mesh is strong
My husband bought this fine mesh to add to the cutlery basket in our dishwasher. We found too many utensils sliding through the basket openings. He was able to cut the mesh to fit each basket slot. He was concerned that the mesh might be too weak to withstand sharp knives. After a month of use, however, the mesh is holding up just fine -- there are no cuts or breaks in the mesh -- and we no longer have spoons, knives, forks, and other items falling through the larger basket openings!

Yup it’s mesh and I’m sure when I get around to it. It will work just fine
