Okay, before the conversation starts, you are free to both seek out a product that does not cost as much, and you are free to pay that price again, before the Fiskars axe wear out. I've bought a splitting maul, a garden fork, a pickaroon, and now an axe from Fiskars. The tools they make have a certain heft to them, a feeling you've bought something that is made well, with quality materials. The splitting maul has gone through three hurricanes with me, and I bought the axe because I wore the old one out. You can find lighter axes. But you're going to do more work with a lighter axe head. The photos shown are what killed my old axe. This is what I need an axe for. If I don't pull that stump out of the ground with the help of the Fiskars I'll come back and explain why it failed. But these people make tools like they mean it. I'm 65 years old and I cannot afford to use junk.

Works great. Only issue is the rubber protection at the end is tearing from use.
