Better than I expected
This barrel was purchased for me to send something overseas, it’s super sturdy very thick plastic, with a serious clamp lock on top. Overall, very satisfied with my purchase.

Just give these guys your money already!
This drum is amazing everyone! It arrived on time and was easy to spot which out of the few items I got that day was the drum (huge box gave it away) heh. My biggest concern about this guy before it arrived was the thickness of the drum itself and being too thin. I have a hydroponic garden that is automated with some heavy valves and sensors connected to a float valve arm that needs to be all mounted on the side. If the walls or drum was too thin it would warp, but NOPE, this thing is like the thickness of two and a half .25$ cent quarters stacked up and is working perfect! This drum is taller than my other one, so I was kinda worried about it being loud while filling up (due to the water fall distance. not a big concern, but still), however once again NOPE. Soon as I put the lid on the water splashing noise got reduced to a quiet trickle and dare say quieter than my first drum. Also becuase the drum has a stright cylinder shape of the drum (from nearly top to bottom), connecting a long tube to float valve spout down to bottom of drum is possible to make it produce nearly NO sound at all while filling.. amazing. The third and final thing I love about this drum is the lock ring (made of plastic like the lid, not metal btw). For my use the lid's / drums already 2 inch sunken sides that slips nicely into drum top is enough for me to keep my water sanitary, but the locking ring is just that extra bonus that gives me 100% guarantee. For applications that require this drum to be on the move (unlike mine) this lock ring is vital for you and you too will appreciate it as well.

Rain Barrel - Very Good product (not perfect).
I used this to create a Rain Barrel. Pros: 1. Brand New Quality Plastic container. 2. Plastic lid was easy to cut into. 3. Had an existing circle (marked) to illustrate the spigot location. Cons: 1. The lid ring is plastic as well--it appears to be metal in the pictures. This is not a problem; however with the hot sun I can I tell this will be the first part to go. Saying that it probably won't be a problem long term. 2. The lid itself it not flat, it's very warped plastic. While this isn't a problem, I will have some areas of standing water. Rain Barrel process that I followed (I am not an expert on this subject matter). I did a lot of research online prior to making my own rain barrel, versus buying a pre-fabricated one on Amazon. Most of the reviews had some complaint about the spigot (leaking / not being brass / breaking etc) or that the bottom cracked out. I don't foresee these problems. I recommend buying the spigot that appears with the barrel (RainPro Brass Spigot). The only real "magic" to this device is the seal it makes with the rain barrel itself (product pictures will further illustrate this). The spigot 1/4 turn is a nice feature as well. If you needed to just change the spigot for any reason--you could easily do so and the seal in the rain barrel will be fine. Actual Process: 1. The barrel has a circle near the bottom where the spigot should go--this is where you will drill a hole for the spigot. 2. Cut a circle into the center of the lid. This was about 7" across (diameter). 3. Placed an aluminum window screen (36" wide to cover the top--this is about $8 at the big box store). This will keep out mosquitos and other bugs. 4. Pressed the lid down onto the barrel itself--I let the screen fit in with the lid, but not tear. 5. Added the plastic lid ring. 6. Trimmed the excess aluminum screen from the sides. 7. You will need some height--I used concrete pavers, but any elevation method would work.

A little pricy but well worth the cost for my application.
Bought this barrel to use as a cyclone for a dust collection system on a wood shop. It fits a 55 gallon construction plastic bag perfectly. Now I’m saving the heap filter and when nearly full I just tie up the gag and trash the wood chips. The top seems to have a really good seal to the barrel. Also has a sturdy plastic top that was perfect for me to cut two holes for 4” cyclone tubes.

It's a 55 gallon drum. I was a little disappointed as someone had tried to cut a hole in it. Luckily I needed to cut a hole there so it didn't matter.

The quality of this product is superior than expected. It's also better than the common Food grade barrel that we see around. It came home without a scratch or a dent. The product was wrapped for transport. For the ones looking if it's FDA approved, it is. Not all HDPE is Food Grade. It is not currently in the description, but after making my own research, this is what I found on the company's website : All Drums feature: • Blow-molded HDPE construction • Chemical & weather resistant • HDPE incinerates completely • United Nations (UN) Certified to HM-181 • Operating temperature range (-30o F to 130o F) • Drop tested – max weight @ 0o F (48 hrs.) • Approved for use with Packing Groups I, II and III • UV Protection Package • UL 94HB Flammability Rating • Nestable for ideal storage (except model 1656) • FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 Food Grade Quality • Stack tested – three high at maximum weight capacity (24 hrs.)
