Maybe I just got a batch of junk, but these bits do not hardly cut aluminum or brass, let alone try them on tool steel. I quickly replaced these inserts with good quality bits and the bit holders work fine. They are plenty sturdy enough to handle tough cutting tasks on my old Atlas lathe.

They do the job as intended for a great price.

Quality item. Perfect for use on my small lathe. I only have used on non-metal (pool cue tip replacement).

Decent little lathe bits but I got two of the same angle so make sure you get all 5 different pieces. How hard is it to check 5 bits? Too late to get a return now.

Very happy with tool and carbide quality. I like that the triangle carbides provide 3-6 cutting edges rather than only 2-4 that the typical diamond shapes. Cut quality is great for the price
