Having trouble picking what length rod with thos reel looking for opinions 10',11'or12'

My husband said 10 to 11 foot Rod. Not heavy enough for a 12 foot. Hope this helps. He used it for a whole season at the Cape Cod canal no complaints good quality for the price.
