EXACTLY what i needed!!! and it comes with 2 which is just even better! has a remote with multiple color options, brightness setting, on/off button, and light “modes”. also has a push button on the wire. works great! perfect for any kind of display especially glass. lightweight which is a plus or minus depending on your use i put sticky tabs under it for stability. it’s a perfect compact size though. overall totally worth it! only downside i’ve found is once you cover the light itself the remote sensor is a bit weaker so you have to be very close to use it. i was going to get the black one but the wood option was cheaper so i got it in hopes of just painting it but i actually like the look. When it comes to holidays, I try to find gifts that are different. What do you buy a dad that has everything? I thought a bit about it, and remembered that my dad's Chinese zodiac is the dragon. I had found this little dragon crystal at a yard sale a few weeks prior that unfortunately didn't have the LED base, so I turned to trusty ol' Amazon. When he was given his gift, I could tell he was expecting something such as a belt, shoes, wallet, cologne, tools -- the usual. When he pulled everything out of the gift bag, the look on his face "lit up" with a similar intensity that this LED base provides. When we finally set it up and plugged everything in, he was absolutely ecstatic. He loved it! About the base itself: This LED base is very bright, but the intensity can be changed with the remote, so that it's not blinding. It comes with 24 different options including the brightness increase and decrease buttons, the on and off buttons, and 20 color/variation settings. Most of these options though only seem to be accessible from the remote, so you'll be missing out on a lot of features if the remote doesn't work. This was one of my concerns, because some other reviews for this product or similar ones, mention that there is a chance that the remote can arrive broken. However, everything works perfectly on both bases for me, so no complaints here. The sturdiness of the base is decent, not high quality and not terrible, but acceptable. The base even has an on/off switch on the power cord. The remote is made from a light-weight plastic. It's a manageable size with very responsive buttons. The remote also comes with batteries already plugged into it, which is very courteous of the manufacturer. However, because the remote is a light-weight, thin plastic it doesn't seem too sturdy, but I'm not too concerned about it. Unless you're subjecting the base or remote to taxing conditions, it should be just fine. If you want to use a wall socket, you will need a USB type A plug, because the power cord on the base only has a male USB end, which can be plugged into other things, like a computer. Using a wall socket wasn't an issue for me, since I had a USB type A plug from an old tablet just laying around. The only thing I didn't like is that the remote comes with that chemical smell that a lot of new, cheap plastics have, so I'm going to clean it off and allow some time for the smell to dissipate. Other than that, it's a great product that has a decent amount of quality and options for a great price. It works flawlessly for what it's worth, and as long as my dad is happy, I'm happy.

Remote range to base is poor. Almost have to stand in front of the base. Base cord would be nice if it was black, as I do not to want see the cord.

These are very nice LED display bases. I have purchases several different brands and types to test them out for light intensity (1w, 3w, and 10w). These are 1 watt units, but they are plenty bright enough for most applications. . I was originally concerned that this particular design would not be bright enough, but the worry was for nothing, and at this price they are fantastic choices. The spectrum of colors, intensity, and lighting effects via the little remote control is very good as well. d

Amazing lights. Exactly as advertised. The unit is sturdy and the simple USB power cord combined with a REAL in line on off switch made this the product to buy. Unlike competing products, due to the switch, this unit works with switched outlets such as in house switches and smart plugs. Great value. The product was purchased to be placed under crystal 3D etched blocks but functioned so well, it was utilized under crystal eagle statues. The effect was amazing.

The light is very bright and the ability to change color allows for many different effects

Super bright!! and the brightness is adjustable, but the remote was weird about adjusting brightness. like it changed colors effortlessly but took a moment to lower brightness. That's my only small gripe, otherwise, the product was exactly as advertised! Fast shipping, everything was packaged neatly, and it is well-made and works near perfectly! I have a selenite tower and other crystals resting on it and WOW!! So pretty, perfect light show for my room.

Works wonderfully with an 8 lb, 5 inch wide glass aquarium "paperweight". Please see my picture. The negatives: 1) Remote doesn't always communicate well with the base, sometimes you need to walk up to the base and point the remote at it at just the right angle to get it to respond 2) Cord is fairly short and doesn't seem replacable 3) Cord is bright white which is an unattractive contrast to the nice wood finish, and 4) Depending on the type of piece you are displaying it may illuminate beautifully as pictured or it may do nothing with more opaque glass. Otherwise I am very happy with this and would buy it again.
