This item makes a striking gift. I have purchased it twice and given to an adult friend and a teenage girl as part of a Christmas shoebox gift. It is PU but looks like leather. I like that it is refillable. Refills are easy to find so its not a disposable notebook like a spiral. It's purse sized in a medium sized purse. It comes with lined paper and looks nice enough to be used as a journal. It could also be used for notes. Plain unlined paper refills can be purchased if one wants to use it as a small sketchbook.

Exactly what I needed for a fraction of the price that people are paying for other items made similar (paying for the fancy name on the brand) This holds the paper as well as the big zip fleece and the two pocket sleeve that comes with it. I am extremely happy with the tan lined paper and I grabbed some extra paper for later. As mentioned this holds the paper and big zip sleeve which I put two pens, a highlighter, and lead pencil in and the small two pocket sleeve that holds a square post it in one and 2 packs of page marker stickers & some paperclips in the other, but I'm able to also throw in an a6 thing notebook in the back where I write out my bills, grocery list, meds, needs for each month and able to throw in a small handheld 2 year monthly planner. EXACTLY what I needed as I'm able to add or remove as I need to. I can throw this in my everyday carry bag and have all documentation i need with me. Basically turned what I had in 4 separate books into one simple setup. Plus it's beautiful!

good notebook bindere

I purchased this 'journal' to use as my DayTimer. You cannot put many pages in it, well, lets say not a whole year's calendar, but I can do at least three. PLUS I have purchased other items that have tabs and other filler colored paper to complete my DayTimer needs. Okay, yes, the leather strap with the leaf attached gets in the way sometimes, but the beauty outweighs that slight inconvenience. The Leather softness is great, the color PURPLE is a WOW and 'The Tree' engraved/carved out on the front just makes it so much more wonderful. This is a DayTimer that I will have for a long time...who knows, someday I 'might' turn it into a 'journal' but for now, it is my work DayTimer...that I show off everyday!
