Excellent product. Use with the wipes on bulldogs paws. Bulldog prone to cysts between her toes and this product certainly clears up the problem.

This might be long, but bear with me. My dog is 5 years old and about 2 years ago when we made a cross country move (2000 miles away, so very different part of the country with very different environmental factors) my dog started having allergies. I didn't recognize them as allergies at first because he would just get a rash in his groin. I just thought his skin was sensitive and running through thorns and high brush was irritating him. I could not have been more wrong. Over the last 2 years his allergies have evolved into a systemic issue. To make a very long story short, I put him on a strict and balanced raw diet in attempt to heal the gut around Thanksgiving after much research (spoiler alert, he hasn't been on it long enough yet for that to come to fruition) and about the time I started that I took him to the vet for a round of steroids and antibiotics to clear up his current flare. His flare ups happen in our wet season, and through a process of elimination I have narrowed it down to a mold allergy. The vet told me it wasn't worth the money to do an environmental allergy test because it comes back with all sorts of stuff that you can't really do anything about. So this is all speculation on my part as it's the only thing that makes sense. This past spring in our rainy season and after a winter of super stank, he did a round of steroids and antibiotics and everything cleared up and we had a great summer. I didn't think much of it, all we dealt with was the rash occasionally and the vet put him on a sensitive skin and stomach food which tremendously helped with his sensitive stomach (gas, diarrhea, and vomiting) but did nothing for his skin. Come fall (and the rain) it flared back up again with a vengeance. He smelled like the biggest musty gym sock in the world, it was horrible, and he was itching like crazy. My entire house smelled like a teenagers stinky feet that haven't been washed in months , despite bathing him very frequently at the vets suggestion. When we started bringing wood in for the wood stove it escalated to a point where it was unmanageable with my over the counter remedies (either he is allergic to some of the wood or more likely mold spores brought in on the wood), so I took him back for a other round of steroids and antibiotics, hoping that would get us through winter. No such luck. We weren't even done tapering off of the steroids and the yeast smell came back with a vengeance as well as itchy, goopy, watery eyes. It was SO BAD. We were both miserable. I had just started a raw diet hoping that would help, but it takes several months for the gut to heal and we just didn't have that kind of time while he was miserable. As much as I really hated to do it, I took him in for a cytopoint shot, hoping this would buy us more time until his gut could heal and his immune system could stand a chance at tackling this allergy. Probably counterintuitive but I was grasping at straws. I'm trying to make this short and sweet but believe me when I say for the last 2 years I've tried literally everything to get to the bottom of and remedy this issue. I joined some dog allergy fb groups and heard about douxoS3 SO MANY TIMES I thought it was worth trying out. So I ordered the douxoS3 pyo as well as the calm on the same day I took him in for the shot which was a Friday. I didn't know at the time that I took him in, but the cytopoint shot would do absolutely nothing to decrease the yeast. According to further research I'd done online, the vet should have given us something to tackle the yeast because if they didn't, the yeast wasn't going away on its own. Most of his itching is yeast related. He doesn't itch until the yeast smell gets unbearable. But the allergy evidently causes the skin to be susceptible to yeast. Long story longer, I received the douxoS3 on Monday, and before I picked it up from the post office I called the vet to see if they would prescribe something to help with the yeast. They would not, and recommended I bathe him in an oatmeal shampoo 😑 which I have done for almost a year now. That does absolutely nothing, he smells just as bad within hours of having a very thorough bath as he did before. Thank goodness I had ordered this stuff because the vet was little to no help. We live 1.5 hours from this vet, which is the closest vet to us, so it's not like I have a lot of options. Monday evening when I got home with the douxoS3 I opened it first thing and covered my dog from head to toe in the pyo and prayed for the best. The next morning I could tell the yeast aroma was significantly decreased. This evening, he just smells like the light fragrance of the douxoS3 with a very faint yeasty smell, and that's only if I bury my nose in his fur. I can definitely tell it's working. He's sitting on the couch next to me as I type this and I smell zero yeast. You can usually smell him 10 feet away. He fills whatever room he is in with the smell of dirty gym socks. But not today!!! And this is after ONE application!! I will definitely update this review as things progress, but I won't lie... I was very much NOT expecting to have results this great or this quickly. It's been 24 hours since his first application and things have calmed down significantly and the yeast smell is 95% reduced. Time will tell if the cytopoint keeps the allergies under control, but in my opinion the yeast is worse than the allergy. If I can keep the yeast under control, that's the biggest thing. He's not getting yeast because he scratches himself and damages the skin, the yeast comes first, then the itching. Why he gets the yeast so bad so fast, I don't know, the vet says allergies, but the yeast is our biggest problem for sure. As long as I can keep that under control, the heck with this $175 shot every month or two. I can buy 7 douxoS3 pyo mousse bottles for what I can get one shot that doesn't seem to do much. That to me is a great value. And it brings comfort for both my dog and my nose. As far as the mousse goes, I didn't have a difficult time using it. My dog is 77 pounds and I should have used about 20 pumps according to the bottle but I probably used about 30ish pumps. I did cover him from head to toe, from the poot to the snoot, careful not to get it in his eyes or anything, but I literally slathered him in it. He does have a double coat, so maybe that's why I had to use a little more than recommended. But it held its lather and rubbed in easily. It left his hair crunchy after it dried, but that was easily brushed out. The skin in his groin is usually tacky/sticky feeling (sign of yeast) but it's has been soft and dry today. It's far easier to apply the mousse than to give him a medicated bath 3x a week. I cannot tell you how excited I am that he doesn't smell like a dirty sock AFTER JUST ONE APPLICATION!! I've used numerous medicated shampoos and topical treatments, this is by far the most effective yet. We will continue using it 3x a week for about 3 weeks to hopefully knock this yeast totally out. I will always keep this on hand from now on. And I'll definitely update this review as things progress. This was worth every penny I spent on it, 10/10 definitely recommend if your dog has yeast problems. If this stuff doesn't help, you may have something other than yeast going on. I only wish I'd found it sooner because I have spent SO MUCH money on other things that didn't work or made things worse. I also wanted to mention, the pyo version is for dogs only, but the calm version can be used on dogs and cats. I'm assuming the chlorhexidine in the pyo isn't safe for cats to lick as they groom them selves much more heavily than dogs. So if you are ordering this for a cat, don't go for the pyo, but order the calm instead as it states it's safe for cats. TLDR; This stuff is awesome and 24 hours after the first application we have had major positive results!!! It was worth every penny and I am sad I didn't find it before now! It will be a staple at my house from now on. 10/10!!

Good for my dog skin

This is the best stuff I've found for my dog's skin allergies. We've been to the vet several times and have tried multiple products. He's been on immune therapy, steroids, medicated baths, fluconazole, tea tree oil products, hot spot treatments, probiotics, and more. This mousse had made the top of our list. It smells nice, like coconut. It's easy to apply and it dries quickly. I rub it on my dog's hot spots. Mostly on his neck, throat, and groin area. This is the only product that has consistently cleared his skin, as long as I keep up with it. I apply it about every other day, no matter how good the skin looks. My dog used to stink and a bath would only be effective for a few days. I'm so grateful that he doesn't smell bad anymore. Try the product if you're going through a skin allergy nightmare. Just apply it to the skin, and leave it. No rinsing is necessary. Keep putting it on every day. My dog is no longer scratching his hair out. It's worth every penny.
