A fantastic Retro-style Automatic
"What do you mean, Doc? All the best stuff is made in Japan." - Marty McFly (Back to the Future 3) I'll keep this short. This has been a wonderful watch to wear daily. I have found it to be accurate, durable, stylish, and most of all - made with quality and care. My watch will move ahead 5 seconds per day, but this is normal for mechanical watches. The winding is easy with manual winding, and the automatic winding works very well. The Lume glows decently bright for a few hours after prolonged sunlight exposure. After about 6 hours the lume will fade to a faint glow, but it is still legible. The lume picture I show in this review was taken immediately after 5 minutes of sun exposure. In summary, I love this watch. And it satisfied my desire for a classic Mechanical watch with automatic winding. Thank you, Seiko, for making an affordable classic.

Great Field Watch with Classic Seiko Quality
The Seiko SRPG35 is an excellent field watch that delivers both style and function at a great value. Right out of the box, the NATO strap feels comfortable and durable, making it a great everyday wear option. The case finish is clean and well-executed, giving it a refined yet rugged look. One of my favorite features is the clear case back, which lets you see the internal mechanical movement—a nice touch for watch enthusiasts. The crystal is very clear, making it easy to read the time at any angle, and the lume is fantastic in low-light conditions, ensuring great visibility when needed. The watch runs very quietly, which I appreciate, and it just feels great on the wrist—not too heavy, not too light, just right for a field watch. It also includes a dual-language date function (English and French), which works well for me, but if you're looking for English and Japanese, make sure to find a listing that explicitly offers that. Overall, this is a well-built, reliable, and stylish field watch that stays true to Seiko’s reputation. Highly recommended!

Excellent Field Watch
I was looking for a quality field watch for a reasonable price (i.e. sub $200) and came across this one. It's a beautiful and functional example of the genre. The case size is just under 40mm making it work for most any wrist size. The case has a beautiful blasted stainless steel finish that fits 20mm bands and features fully drilled lugs. The stem is large enough to easily manipulate and the winding mechanism is smooth as butter. The face of the watch is a nice flat black color but has some texture to it that gives is some character. The Arabic numbers are large and easy to read. One caveat, though they look it, the numbers themselves are not lumed, only the pips next to each number and the hands are lumed. Both the day and the date can be quick set by crown position and the day can be set to Spanish or English. The watch also features hacking for accurate setting. It came with a Seiko branded Nato band but that caused it to sit too high on my wrist for my taste so I changed to a nice blue leather. One of the great things about this watch is how well it looks with so many different bands. Finally, there is a presentation back where you can see the Seiko 4R36 movement in action. This movement is used by Seiko on several watches, many that are more expensive than this one. I'd definitely buy this again.

Attractive watch with an easy to read dial.
A quality timepiece with an easy to read dial. However, it is thick especially with the type of band that doubles between the wrist and the watch. I would have liked a slimmer profile and a lighter weight. I changed the band to a more traditional style which lowered the watch to my wrist by enough for me to wear it without noticing its bulk. As far as accuracy it is acceptable but of course can't be compared to good quartz movement. I do appreciate the automatic movement and the price point. Overall a good value which I hope to enjoy for many years.

Good quality, great beater watch.
Hated this watch when I bought it. Thought it was the ugliest watch ever made! Did not care for the sandblasted look of the case. Didn't care for the Nato watch band. Purchased a brownish red leather strap from a local jewelry store and liked it way better than the one that came with it. This watch had to grow on me and I now love it. One glance it is easy to see the time night or day. The lume is good and lasts all night with 30 seconds of good light before bedtime. I wear it 6 days a week and ride and feed horses 4 of those days a week. I do mechanic work with it and am very rough on it and after several months now it doesn't have a scratch on the hardlex crystal or case. The sandblasted case was made to hide the scratches. Keeps accurate time for a automatic watch, loses under a minute per month. 2 year update: The watch runs great after much use. The brushed case look almost as good as the day I bought it, outside of a few nicks (probably from a fist fight, or bucking horse flipping on me , etc.) The harlex crystal has managed to have a few deep scratches but still very serviceable. The watch keeps great time for how many times it been beat. It loses 3 seconds per day. I only adjust it the 1rst of every month. One and a half minutes off for the month. If your looking for a beater watch this one has held up well...

Absolutely loving this Seiko automatic field watch. The design is clean, rugged, and timeless—exactly what a true everyday tool watch should be. The dial is incredibly legible, even at a glance, and the day-date function is practical without cluttering the face. The automatic movement feels solid and reliable, with that satisfying smooth sweep you expect from Seiko. Paired with the NATO strap, it’s lightweight, comfortable, and versatile—equally at home in casual wear or a more dressed-down professional setting. This watch punches way above its price point. Classic military-inspired aesthetics, dependable craftsmanship, and Seiko’s legendary reliability make this an easy recommendation for anyone looking for a no-nonsense, great-looking automatic watch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Awesome featureset, classic design, and great Seiko quality. Slapped a leather band on there, and wow, what a watch!
