How to open with remote

This is a wind sensor. It will close the awning when it senses wind ( awning bouncing). I am not sure I understand the question as it does not work with a remote.

Will this work on girard RV awnings???

This unit will work with any awning that uses a Somfy RTS motor. Unfortunately we do not know what kind of motor is in your awning.

What make awning continuously retract without wind

If the batteries are dead or week then the awning will retract every 20 to 30 minutes even without wind as a safety mechanism for the motor . This will also happen if water got inside the sensor or batteries leak and corroded the circuitboard, if either of these are the case then you will need a new sensor.
