Contains The Most Commonly Used Residential Electrical Code Citations - Without Having to Buy or Navagate the 2017 NEC
FULL Disclosure! I am one of the authors. For about 20 years, the Code Check series of books have been a trusted and widely used code reference series in building departments across the US. Many local building officials carry CC books in the field or use them at their permit desk. That is why that are laminated - so they can take the abuse. Several critical comments are that the codes are summarized. Code Check is like the cliff notes for the building codes. There is no other way to fit the info from the National Electrical Code (NEC) - which is nearly 800 pages - into a 32 page book - unless of course we used REALLY small print! lol CCE 8th includes the most commonly used residential electrical codes. There are a dozens of illustrations and tables. The illustrations are literally a "picture" of what the codes say. See the sample illustration attached. CC Electrical 8th focuses on the areas where most of the correction notices are written by the local building inspectors. CCE 8th edition uses the most commonly adopted model codes in effect today in the US. It is based primarily on the 2017 NEC but also highlights many of the code changes from the 2014 NEC. The 2014 NEC was adopted in California in Jan 2016 as the 2016 CEC. CA won't move to the 2017 NEC until Jan 2020. The point being - CCE 8th should be a useful tool in most parts of the US for the next 3-6 years. One thing I find confusing is some of the reviews. There are reviews on this book from 2001 - which is impossible. We didn't start writing CCE 8th edition until very late 2016. I hope you enjoy! -Skip
