LOVE this coffee maker -- it is easy to use, compact, and makes better coffee than a previous much more expensive one -and the silver is a stylishly fit with my stainless appliances A critical reason I chose this maker is that the hot plate stays on for 2 full hours -- double what most coffee makers will do. I also like the compact size-- it's several inches in all directions smaller than similar ones I compared. Other reviews indicate it's slow, but it doesn't take any longer than my 5 cup pot (brewed both on medium), and I like that I can set the brew strength. Unlike some folks, I also found it easy to pour water into the reservoir and coffee into my cup. Great value for the cost, ability to adjust brew strength , and programmability. I used a paper filter instead of the permanent one -- #4 worked great and only brew only 5 cups most days -- tastes great either way.

Only had for a short time, but ( I LOVE this coffee maker!!) Had the 5 cupper before, but got tired of the lid constantly closing on my hand and having to lift it back up to add water or grounds and finally broke it ! That wasn’t the only problem; the warming plate was way too hot and would burn the coffee up before I could get a second cup! So did this mean it wasn’t brewing at the right temperature either?(Took me a while to figure out what was wrong!) It also didn’t have an auto off function. Didn’t really need a 10 cuper but It went on sale for $20 dollars off and I couldn’t resist!! This coffee maker is highly recommended.

Overall we are happy with this drip coffee maker but it has a couple of things that keep it from being "5-star". The biggest issue I have with it is filling the reservoir with water. First, this has a single lid that covers both the water reservoir and the grounds basket. This means you have to fill with water before adding grounds because the reservoir fill area is rather small and the lid doesn't tilt out of the way, resulting in water likely spilling into the grounds basket area. Because of the shape of the carafe and the tall lid you also cannot pour all of the water from the carafe, about 1 Tbl remains in the carafe every fill. Yes, this may be nit-picking but it is an issue for me. Since 'cup' in coffee makers is an arbitrary unit for this maker 10-cup is the same as 8-cup was for my Hamilton Beach pot, not a big deal once I figured it out. It makes a good cup of coffee, much stronger than my HB did when on "Bold" so I had to dial this one back to "Med" instead. We like the compact size and the brew time is fine. I also like the muted blue color of the clock.

This coffeemaker was exactly what I wanted: makes a good cup of coffee, small enough to fit on my counter, good-looking. However, after four months, the heating plate is terribly rusty. See photo. I called Krups customer service department, and they were very nice, offering to accept it for repair, but it involved sending it to them and being without a coffeemaker for three weeks. This is unacceptable for a product that is still under warranty and only four months old ! Why can't they send me a loaner and repair this one? Poor customer service from a brand I trusted. I was able to locate a repair shop thru the Krups website. If the machine is under warranty, Krups will email a UPS shipping label. The reference code on the label is necessary for free repair. The repair shop guy said the rusting occurred because of the coffee's acid dripping on the plate! I now have the repaired machine. We remove the filter cone with the wet coffee grounds before we remove the carafe. The warming plate is starting to degrade again. Why can't they find a warming plate finish that does not react with the acid in the coffee? We have had the repaired machine now for less than 6 months, and the heating is rusty in spite of I urgently carefully trying to I prevent drips. A few days ago, a pot of coffee took more than 30 mins to brew, making the sputtering sound that the machine makes before the brewing has finished. We gave it a second chance. Same! I'm going to throw in the towel and buy a new coffee maker. Please change my rating to zero stars.

Had this coffee maker for a year and a half. It brews just fine but the LED is not working correctly now. As you can see in the photo, the light for Strength is on, but it is actually off. And the tome is currently 8, not 7. Some of the parts do not light up. Thankfully, I do not use the time/program, so no big deal for me. Great for what I need….a good cup of Joe!!

I purchased this coffee maker based on my experience with an excellent coffee grinder by the same manufacturer. The taste of the coffee and the excellent carafe would earn 5 stars, however, I find the soft touch buttons a little gimmicky which wouldn’t affect my rating much if the warming plate wasn’t almost impossible to clean. It has a somewhat coarse finish and seams to trap burnt coffee and water scale which transfers to the bottom of the carafe. I clean the coffee maker after each brew but the warming plate still gets a mottled whitish brown and puts a burned coffee ring on the bottom of the carafe. I have to use a baking soda paste to clean it off . If this doesn’t bother you the coffee is good and the carafe is as close to dripless as I have found.

This is a really good coffee machine. Compact. Makes great coffee and really hot. Would highly recommend. Have been using for almost a month now. No issues.

I wanted a coffee pot that was simple and didn't take up too much space on my counter. This one fit the bill. I like that you can choose how strong you want your coffee and it shuts off after a few hours. Looks quite elegant. Very pleased.

It looks nice, but I suspect the stainless steel is steel colored plastic as it is very light! Just felt cheaply made, although it brewed a very nice cup of coffee. I also worry about the touch pad controls; a bit finicky to turn it on. The older Krups models were better made; I used to sell them in a kitchen shop. For $115.00 (what I paid), I want a better made machine. A pipe dream, maybe.
