I have a permit that adhesive is on the back so it would be place on the outside of my car window, will this product work for me?

Per your question, Sticker Shield does work with standard stickers that has adhesive on the back, however, due to the many outside elements like rain, snow, carwashes, etc, we do not guarantee Sticker Shield for outside use. However, if you are allowed to mount that same sticker on the inside of the window, you can cut a piece of Sticker Shield about a ½ inch larger than your sticker on all sides and "sandwich" your sticker up on the inside of the car window by using the Sticker Shield film as a surrounding frame. With this application method you won't even have to take the original backing paper off of your permit sticker. can I use this on a 16in long decal?

You can, however, based on the size of your decal you would have to splice multiple sheets of Sticker Shield together to span the entire 16 inch decal. Sorry, but we currently do not offer our larger size sheets on Amazon.

Has anyone actually tried it on a Sunpass Mini and checked if is reading correctly when going thru tolls?

I used this on a Sunpass sticker in a rental car last September in Florida and had no problems with tolls. The sticker was easily removed before returning the rental car.

I have a plastic hang-tag that I want to attach to my windshield. Is the adhesive strong enough to hold something like this?

Hello and thanks for your interest in Sticker Shield. Per your question, it depends on the size and weight of your hang tag. Perhaps this example will help you decide: One of our product specialist adheres a full 4x6 inch sheet to his windshield that from that, hangs a plastic toll road transponder from it with absolutely no issue.
