Nanogen Keratin Hair Fibers,

Well I bought a bottle of this stuff about a month ago. I had heard of Topik and hair cubed but wasn't sure what to expect. Since Nano was cheaper and had good reviews saying it was as good as the other products, I had to try it out. I was very happy with the product!! I have been thinning and have a small bald spot in the back/top part of my head. This product made it all go away. It makes me look 5 years younger and the best part is how it stays put. I was worried of moister because I work out and on a hot day I tend to Perspire, I didn't want to be somewhere with black stuff leaking from my head. But I was VERY surprised at how it holds up to water, even in the Gym with a full sweat going, it stays put. I was also worried about how REAL it was going to look, even in full sun, No one could tell I had any product on!! it blends so well. Only problem is, in the front of the hairline- got to be careful on blending it in little by little or I can tell it doesn't look right. But with practice I got it down now. SORRY cant compare this product since it has been the only one I have tried, but Definitely happy with the results. I also used COUVRE and it works well with this product I use COUVRE to cover the scalp and Nanogen to give my hair Body. I could use just the Nanogen with the same result but it seems like I have to use a bunch of it, so the COUVRE is a good Combo. Oh and yes it you scratch your head the Nanogen gets under your nails, not a big deal but if you remember not to scratch its probably better than looking like you have dirty nails.

I am in love with Nanogen! I had reconciled with having to wear wigs to even be able to step out of the house. I am a woman close to 40, who is now seeing a huge line of scalp where I part my hair all the way from the front and part way down the back. So my hair has thinned effusively all over, but that line, and an especially thinning area near my hairline next to my forehead has me self-conscious from the moment I'm out of bed to the moment I sleep. It is embarrassing and it definitely takes a huge toll on self-confidence. I tried a wig but it never felt natural. In a desperate measure to seek solutions before a family re-union, I came across videos of Nanogen. Here's what I love about it: 1. No one can tell - And I mean no one. My kids and husband came home when I first received and applied Nanogen. I did not say anything for a few minutes, and they kept staring at me. They knew something was different but couldn't place their finger on it. Just said that I looked great, younger somehow (Yeah!). I told them and then immediately took them out where I was in the sun for them to look carefully to see if they could tell. I can tell you that I've done this test multiple times. I will stop on my way into the mall or somewhere else when the sun is shining on me, and just ask them to look everywhere and see if they can tell that it's not my hair. And they can't. My family or friends have not been able to either. I FINALLY look forward to taking pictures again. 2. So Easy - It took me about three tries to perfect the density and look I wanted with Nanogen. Just how much and where. It helps to have access to a well lit place where you can see what you're doing. I have a combination of mirrors I use to verify that the back of my head now looks okay. But you will learn to pretty much place a finger in your bald spat and with the other hand, guide the Nanogen bottle to the finger and pat to get results exactly where you need them. The texture is just like hair too so I like it. 3. It stays on - I don't wash my hair everyday. Once I have applied this and lightly sprayed on my hairspray on it, it stays for days. I have also used it without hairspray. I find that some of it falls off while I sleep but I still see some results the next day with it. Wind, rain etc do not make a difference. And for those of you who don't have hair, you know how big a deal it is to go out in the wind and rain when you're afraid that your barely there hair will get messed up and your bald spots will start showing. 4. Better than the competition - I could not bring myself to try on Toppik due to the chemical and color issues with it. I did order Caboki at the same time as I ordered this. I like Caboki too. But Caboki is more like powder that settles on my scalp so sometimes can look like i painted it. Nanogen is a fiber that sits on top of my bald spots attached to the minimal hair that are there to make it look like I have hair on top of my scalp, not color on my scalp. It is also less messier than Caboki to apply in my opinion. 5. Color works for me - I have hair that is uniformly one single color. So the color is a great match for me. I am not sure how it might work if you have a lot of highlights. 6. Does not stain - I don't have a single stain on my pillows, clothes or anywhere else from keeping this in my hair and sleeping with it. Cons - 1. Sometimes Itchy - I can go for 2-3 days without washing my hair. So sometimes it'll get itchy but it could just be my oily scalp.

I havent tried any other of the products like this so I cant compare. As far as this one, I really love it and use it every day. I have dark brown hair so I am not sure what the product would be like for someone with lighter hair but for darker it works great. I use the pointy end of my comb to make parts in my hair from front to back. Sprinkle on the fibers all along the part and if you have a part where it clumped or have just one dark spot on your scalp you can just use your fingers to lightly tap the fibers along your part. I spray the part with a regular pump hair spray and let it dry for a second. Then I make another part next to that and repeat it over the top of my scalp. I usually turn my head over and fluff my hair a bit as to not have a definite part. If I see places where it is bare I just repeat it. If I know I am going out that evening I may put a bit more on and sometimes I am lazy and just put it on my part that is showing. When I do the entire top of my scalp it really looks fuller. I have ordered twice now and I received the product both times the next day. Fastest shipping ever. My only complaint is that I do use it every day and for the price it is a bit much. I may try another brand to compare but right now I really love this stuff. Def recommend.

I have a balding spot on the top back (crown) of my head. It's about two inches in diameter. I have been using Rogaine on it, and while that hasn't resulted in the balding spot going away, it has kept it from getting any worse. Still, I wanted to see if there was anything else I could do about it. I was on a web forum about balding (and what to do about it) and I read several posts about Nanogen. There are other similar products made by other companies, but the overall consensus was that Nanogen was the best of them. There are even videos online that show it being applied. It seemed too good to be true, but for ~$25 bucks, I decided to give it a shot. Now, if you have a bald spot that is completely bald (bare skin, not even thin whispy hairs), you probably won't see much improvement, but if you are like me, this product is amazing. One minute, you have a balding spot, the next it's gone! The Nanogen fibers stick to those little fuzzy hairs and make it look like full, natural hair. Even on a windy day, they stay in place. If you are going to be exercising (and perspiring), swimming, or going out in really high winds, they recommend using some hair mist after applying the Nanogen to give it some extra hold. They sell their own "fixing" mist, but I have found that just about any brand will work (just be careful to spray whatever product you are using on top of the Nanogen once it is on your head, then let it dry before touching or combing it). You may have to experiment with which shade of Nanogen most closely matches your natural hair color, but other than that, it's great stuff!

I've been using concealer products for around 10 years now, I always have used Toppik in the past and have recently been looking for alternatives. I heard good things about Nanogen so I decided to give it a try. I ordered black (as my hair is black) but it seems more of a dark brown, significantly lighter than my hair. Also, when I would lay down then sit up again, there would be a big dark brown pile of fibers where I just laid. When I apply I always make sure to shake out any excess, so I'm not sure why there was so much transfer. I marked this as an 'it's OK' because it is just that, OK. I do prefer Toppik and Hairmax over Nanogen. I am a woman with shoulder length hair.

Actually i'm disappointed that this Hair fibers did not work for me. I was having high expecations after i saw the reviews and ordered it. But when i applied it, it did not stand even for a day on my head. Forget about the bald area, even where i have thin hair, it was not sticking beyond a few minutes. I comb my hair after 30 minutes of applying the fibers, all those fibers were in my comb!! Product packing had a catalog which says i need to buy some hair spray for these fibers to stay longer......but no videos had that as a first step before pouring the hair fibers on our head. It will stay even when we go in the rain, take a shower, sweat out etc are all false statements!! I thought i had a solution for my thining hair...but looks like hair transplantation is the only permanament solution for thining hair and baldness.

Well unfortunately for me, at 37 years old I've been losing hair on my crown visibly for about 5 years now. I use Rogaine foam and take saw palmetto to try and combat the ever advancing ravages of time and DHT on my hair follicles, but my top is still thin. After hearing Dr. Sam Lam mention it in one of his talks posted on YouTube (check out his YouTube blog vids, they are great!), I decided to look into Nanogen. From their website it's obviously a British company, which is fine. They helped us in WWII, so what the hell. Anywhoo, great product. You sprinkle the keratin fibers out of what looks like a pepper shaker, blend it into your thinning locks with your fingertips, and it's like all of a sudden your thinning areas are thick again. I sprinkle on Nanogen after foaming up with Rogaine and letting it dry. The drier your hair is, the better the fibers bind to your existing hair. Then I put on some d:fi styling creme and I'm good to go. I think I'll be using this product for a long time, or as long as enough hair on my head holds out so it looks passable. By then I'm hoping science can inject stem cells into George Costanza's scalp and regrow hair without needing plugs. There ya go.
