These are PLA straws… They are not made of toxic petroleum chemicals and do not contribute to plastic pollution, including micro plastics… PLA straws are just like the toxic and polluting plastic straws in that they are great straws for cold beverages (neither is good for hot… get a stainless straw for hot, ya filthy animal)… But… Unlike the toxic chemical petroleum straws, PLA straws sink in water and do not float… So you won’t find them stuck in the nose of a sea turtle that got to close to the great floating garbage blob in the ocean… PLA straws are made from plant starch and break break down/compost much faster (you need a commercial digester if you want to compost them quickly). But these are not going to take hundreds or thousands of years to break down like the toxic chemical petroleum straws… I am in California and Amazon won’t allow me to buy these directly from them (because they are little bitches)… So I hade to buy them Directly from Phade… I just got my order today… They are odorless and tasteless, but blue in color (So I know they are not made of iocaine powder)… They are the same size as the vast majority of shake / super sized drink straws that you get from most fast food places (But I only eat organic, so I clearly cannot choose the straw in front of them)… These are good and have a decent thickness to them, but not overly thick in wall thickness nor diameter… You could drink milk or water or anything just as easy as a thick shake without sucking the straw flat (I do hate a flimsy straw)… So I clearly can choose the straw in front of me… So… Good straws… Good price… Individually wrapped in paper (not the best, but way better than wrapped in plastic)… I like them.

I wish these were available at businesses everywhere.. Companies like Booster Juice have been using this kind of biodegradable straw sincebuying thse long before plastic straws were outlawed.. I keep these in a bag in my car and take a few in my jacket pocket to the movies cause I like to sipmy drink through the whole movie.. paper straws last 10-20 minutes tops.. Highly recommend buying these.. I bought the 3 pack after trying the single box..
