Sofia the First Review: My 2 Year Old Loves It - This is the longest book that my 2 year old will actually sit through. It has great illustrations and the words are "handwriting-like" so they are a little more interesting than standard printed text. Some reviewers have complained that it doesn't contain every detail from the movie, but I was actually thankful for that. It made for a nice, short fairytale for a younger child- which is what this character is targeting. It IS on Disney JUNIOR after all. Toddlers and pre-schoolers just don't have the attention span for a book that would cover every detail, nuance, and sub-plot. Plus, I think all of that could get confusing for a young child to try and follow. The book cover is a beautiful purple with stamped lettering on it and the dust jacket was of great quality (though not durable enough to last more than a few weeks of my toddler opening and closing and pulling on this book LOL). It was a great purchase and I have a feeling that we will be reading "Fia!" for years to come. Review: So Cute! - What a wonderful story. Who among us didn't dream that we would become a princess some day? And what a wonderful story about doing the right thing and making the right choices. This is something that is sorely lacking in todays world. I especially love that they bring in Cinderella who offers advice from her experience, a mentorship if you will. Sharing from her perspective of wishing she had given her stepsisters another chance to become friends she teaches Sofia to make some wise decisions. Wonderful encouragement and a wonderful story. I can't wait to see the next in the series!

Sofia :)
Sofia the first has been a hit for my family since the first episodes. We scrambled to collect all the books, toys as they came out. This was the first thing we purchased, it being a Christmas present, my daughter was very excited. It is just long enough for a bedtime story, and sums up the first tv movie wonderfully. Sofia is the perfect modern day princess, teaching young girls to be yourself, and treat everyone nice-I love the message! This book is gorgeous full of pretty artwork, and the font is perfect for kids.

Adorable story for a little 'princess'
Saw this at the store and knew that my daughter would LOVE it! Simple cute story about a little girl who becomes a princess after her mother marries the king. She thinks her stepsister hates her, but when she gets into a jam Cinderella helps her see that the stepsister is just adjusting to a new sister as well. I like the simplicity of the message and it is nice to see Disney show step-siblings getting along for a change. I know that this will be a series on the Disney channel as well and I have it all set to DVR so my daughter can enjoy it as well. Please note that there are some versions of this book that include a CD with some songs on it, but this version from Amazon doesn't have that included. So just make sure you are getting the version you want.

Great book for Sofia the first Fans.
Beautiful illustrations and story. My 1 year old daughter loves books and she is currently into Sofia the First Disneyjr show. Thought this would be a good book. First reading went well she loved it. Only reason why I dropped one start is that when I received it today in the mail the outer paper cover was damaged. See pictures attached. Luckily all the pages inside are perfect and so is the hard cover of the book.

The best Sofia book -- high quality paper and beautiful illustrations
My just-turned-3-year-old daughter absolutely LOVES Sofia the First and this book is a regular request. It follows the storyline of the Sofia the First pilot episode "movie" that covers the story of Sofia's mom marrying King Roland, and Sofia moving into the castle, starting at a new school, and having to transition. A few plot points from the movie are skipped, but overall it's well done. The paper quality is wonderful (lustrous, not matte) and the illustrations are beautiful. She has a lot of the pages memorized and often tries to "read" this book to herself. Your little girl will love this book -- it's well worth the money! (And in my opinion it's the best of the Sofia hardcover books.)

Adorable book tells story of the movie
If you've see the one-hour special on Disney (not the regular show) you already know the adorable story told in this book. A young village girl becomes a princess... Illustrations are very pretty, language entertains a toddler, and many favorite characters present in the book. A must for all Sofia the First lovers!

Cute but not what I purchased
I purchased the book for my daughter, hoping to put it in her Easter basket. But , The book came damaged. It looked as it was returned or used.

Beautiful book, the illustrations are incredible and the length is perfect for a nice bedtime story (not too short or long). Very happy with this purchase for my 3 year old and it would make a nice gift as well.

This book has lovely illustrations and a nice story line to it. It touches on the problem of step-sister jealousy and taking on new challenges. It shows in a pleasant way how to overcome these through understanding, compassion and sharing. An appealing book for a young girl.
