CA Society Chinese Red Ink, Orange Calligraphy Ink, Orange Liquid Ink, Red Sumi Ink, 250ml (8.45oz)

I have have experience with gold waxes/pencils/inks, but this bottle redefines shine. I am so happy to have found this product, a little goes a long way, and It’s got an appropriate dry time, so far I’ve made a few dolls with it, definitely no complaints! Start out using just a little. I feel that it looks interesting on fabrics, to play with light and texture. It’s also a very generous bottle. Fantastic viscosity. And you can use it for encaustic painting, appliqué for your home decor, holiday ornaments, any craft, really. I honestly considered dying a pair of shoes, and also on selvedge denim. Endless possibilities. I’m trying to figure out how to use it for kinysugi, as I have shards of a porcelain mug I have had in a drawer tucked away for years. Overall, it seems to be something I keep in the house just because it’s such a high quality.

I have been on a search for an "perfect" gold. I have tried watercolor, gouache, inks just to see what is out there. This ink is hands down awesome. It goes down nicely, dries quickly so creating a finished, consistent gold background is easy and gorgeous. Key learning is that this ink can be diluted with water--and your brushes are not going to get gunked up as it is cleanable. However, if you let the ink dry, it is not rewettable etc. which is a clean up issue, but you can paint right on top etc. I am in love.

I absolutely love the color and smoothness of the ink! It flows off my nib beautifully!

Beautiful hue. A very vibrant, almost fluorescent orange with a surprising amount of shading. However, the hairlines are super thick, and the ink sticks to the nib and no amount of rinsing or washing will remove it. I tried diluting with water or thickening with gum arabic, but the hairlines stay thick.

Color and texture are beautiful. I'm using it as paint and feel very impressed with the quality.

This is not red ink, no matter what it says on the bottle, or what the site says, this is orange ink, bright orange, almost Florissant, im not sure if my bottle was wrong or messed up in some way, but it came out bright orange. I was looking forward to using this product, but i really needed red. I gave it two stars because the flow of the ink is fantastic, its just not the right color for what is advertised.

Beautiful gold color, like painting and scripting with liquid gold.
