A lot safer to use than traditional punch down tool; I had slipped and sliced my thumb with those. Also beats it out in terms of speed, ease of use and I had 1 super short wire from wall gang that I was able to terminate using this. Blade is sharp and cut all wires in 1 shot, no need to bend wires till they fall off! Very much worth it and very good quality.

I've keystoned a fair amount of cabling over the years, somewhere over 2,000 terminations. I bought this crimp tool, along with EMS's RJ45 jacks in bulk, for my own remodel. Wish I'd found these years ago. There's a very mild learning curve and it's important to get the tension set properly. Once you're there, this is an amazing tool. No more pucks to deal with to keep dents off drywall. No more bang-bang-bang impact tool to mash a hole in your finger when your hands get tired or sweaty and a keystone rolls out from under the impact tool. None of that. A couple of hours to terminate 30 cables at both ends (I don't claim to be fast), everything was muscle memory by the 4th or 5th keystone. Push wire into one side of the keystone, turn the cable into its valley, push 4 more in, check, set the keystone in the crimper, one squeeze and you're done; the tool seats and cleaves in one go. Perfect terminations, 60 for 60, all confirmed by my Fluke CIQ. Happy times, next task. The system isn't cheap. It's also not cheaply made. The crimper has good hand feel and its padded case has real rather than living hinges and closures. Can't speak to its long term durability or how long its blades stay viably sharp after one small project, but I'm relegating my Fluke crimper, impact tool and puck (if I can find it) to a dusty, disused corner of the tool cabinet. VERY well done, EMS!

This tool is easy to use. Traditional punch down tools are fine, but can be fiddly when one isn’t running cable every day or every week. Last night I redid most of my old connections to a patch panel to a new panel with insets for keystone jacks. It was so easy and each connection was right the first time! I realize that with more experience and training I could get a lot faster and yield better results, so I blame myself rather than my old tools, but I am so relieved to have a tool that is so easy to use and reliable! It is well worth it for running Ethernet in your home or one-off office setup.
