What is the maximum current it can support?

We have tested 3ft. sample lengths of Liberator 40 and found that the material can carry 1A of current without any noticeable degradation or change in resistance.

Both Liberator and AmberStrand fibers have undergone various tests for washability. Some of the testing involves garment washing while some involve washing of the fiber. Testing has shown various results depending on the method, although the fiber typically maintains conductivity through numerous wash cycles and outperforms most other metal clad fibers.

Is the thread suitable for making grounding/earthing products?

The conductive yarn is not UL rated nor has it been characterized for current handling. We have had an independent test lab do a 'Fusing' test designed to measure time to interrupt using 3 amps and it did not fuse/interrupt. But we have not characterized it for grounding specifically.
