they're braided, which will probably help in their longevity. works just fine. small issue: there's a humming noise i get when my speaker is turned up to max volume. didn't have this issue with my other aux cable. it's alright though, i just turned down the volume on the speakers themselves and turned up the volume from my projector and laptop.
