The Mechanic

About time these Bronson films got 4k treatment, there is many that needs to be addressed for upgrade such as Borderline, Love and Bullets. Both great films that need the treatment. The Mechanic is a classic Charlie film that most Bronson fans will have grown up with, if you havent seen it then its a must watch. I was unsure about buying the kino because while they do produce great transfers i am not a lover of their overall design and eco covers. Unlike the UK covers and cases these covers will not last and very weak like toilet paper, and their back covers are bland. Yet I will compromise as a Bronson fan I have sourced different versions if his films and ai find the german media book the best option showing on the shelf, same as White Buffalo. My 4k discs will land in them and stay there. As for the special features, i find it boring listening to people (historians ect) who didnt know Bronson and there for the features mean nothing to me. You buy Bronson films for him not a know it all (who actually doesnt know all he makes out). Ive been a huge Bronson fan very early on and have seen so much about Bronson online back in the 90s (no longer available) that contradicts everything these historians make out. Be wise, ignore their tales. Enjoy the films for the man. Now when you get a producer, and actors (who knew Bronson) talking about him and telling tales this is without a doubt a special feature that is sort for. Kino take notes.

Great movie with lots of action. I love Jason Statham movies

Good movie - we really enjoyed it

i like all his movies. so i will watch him no matter what the film is. i did not see the original with charles bronson. although i did like this movie there were a few things i would have liked to see. and along with that, a few things i didnt like. the plot is good, the acting is good, donald sutherland although a small part was fantastic and brings with him a credibility to add to the film. i cant say to much and if you have not seen it maybe you shouldnt read any further just in case i say something that spoils it for you. jason's character a master hitman, ends up having a conflict with his master. my problem with this is , after all the years of knowing his master and mentor, he takes the word of the firm that his mentor was no good. there is no explanation, and not even a hint of jason's character asking the question "why" does the firm want my mentor and friend our of the picture. also, he takes on his mentors son as his protoge and in doing so, there is little training, and they didnt go anywhere to develop any kind of relationship between the two. you are left wondering what he really thinks of him. you see a hint of compassion, and a hint of thoughts that he owed it to him out of respect for his mentor. but they dont do anything to develop a relationship between the two, and then they are off to do jobs. they could and should have done more with this movie. it had great potential. i thought it was over to fast, and it left a few questions that should have been answered. it felt rushed. but it is a good movie and has good action and good acting, and its worth watching. i will see all his movies and this one is worth watching.....

Great action

Charles shows us how to eliminate on a grand scale, they don't make leading men like him anymore. Thiis film is a must have for Bronson fans.
