There are 70 one inch squares on each side of the page = 140. Yes, I could print swatching sheets, but buying good quality art paper for my computer printer would be more expensive in the long run. I'm of two minds about the dotted grid. On the one hand, it gives me flexibility for spacing. On the other hand, I have carpal tunnel syndrome and sometimes my lines are shaky. I'd love to have this book with the dots set up for 1/2 squares, for larger art sets.

Good quality paper.
I use this book to swatch my art supplies, especially colored pencils. There are 70 one inch squares on each side of the page = 140.
