I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. It's a perfect wheel for beginners. Comes with some clay and paints. Easy setup.

We’ve had and used this pottery wheel for a few years. It’s held up nicely. Both my kids love making their own bowls. It has a right hand/left hand feature which allows for opposite rotation which is great for my family of lefties and righties. One tip: if the clay is too dry it’s hard to mold. Wrap it in a damp towel and let it absorb the moisture prior to use and make sure hands are wet or it will cause resistance. We’re happy with this product and are considering another so our kids can work independently together.

Overall it's a pretty good very basic "beginner's" pottery wheel -- good mainly as an inexpensive tool for learning the basic techniques such as centering. It has a pretty weak motor though and the wheel can easily stall, but after I replaced the motor with a more powerful one (http://www.amazon.com/6300RPM-Shaft-Magnetic-Motor-Hobby/dp/B00BG61S44?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00), the pottery wheel was easier to work with.

Bought as a present and the recipient really loves it. I have since seen a couple of things they've made.
