Very high quality SAM-e, possibly the best in the market.
I have an injury to my right hip joint. A small piece of bone is in my joint. There was a 50% chance that surgery would make it worse, so I didn't have a hip surgery. I heard someone praise SAM-e on Doctor Radio, so I bought the enterically coated brand that was mentioned along with some others. Nature Made SAM-e has stopped the pain. I take 2 of the tablets for best effectiveness. Studies have shown that joint comfort from SAM-e supplementation is best achieved at 600 to 1200 mgs. I don't use it for mood support which by the way would need a higher dose. I tried another brand that was on sale at Amazon, but after a month my hip pain was insufferable and had to take Aleve to do simple tasks. I started taking this brand of SAM-e again and in a few days the pain was gone so I didn't need Aleve.

The Best SAM-e
Nature Made is the best SAM-e. Can never find it in Walgreens or Rite Aid anymore. Sucks because it was the only way it was affordable when it would be bogo. They don’t even sell the Walgreens or Rite Aid brands anymore I don’t get it. I bought naturemade religiously for over 20 years. I can’t afford it at this price but as long as the expiration date is like 2 years out and it’s fresh, they always made the best one. Enteric coated, empty stomach with B12, B6 & Folic acid. 1200-1600 mg a day for mood. 400-800 for joints and liver detoxification. Miracle supplement.

Good effects, but pills are just too difficult to swallow for some people
The effects are noticeable and positive. I accidentally bought this version and it was a good mistake because the pills are round and smaller (not small but smaller), making for easier swallowing compared to the lozenge shaped versions of SAM-e we used. However, the person taking it has difficulty swallowing pills so instead of buying this again we are trying a dissolvable brand of SAM-e. Would rather stick with Nature Made, but not until they do a melt one. If I could I'd give it 4.5 stars due to pill size.

Works well
I switched from Jarrow because of their packaging issues, and I’m really impressed with this SAM‑e. I’ve noticed a clear improvement in my mood and energy. It’s a bit pricey, but it works well, and I would recommend it.

Effective but pricey
I’ve been using this for several months now. I tried 200mg which didn’t have any effect so I upped it to 400mg, 2 tabs in the AM on an empty stomach. I tolerated this well. So then I thought I’d try to save money and the number of pills I was taking by buying a 400mg per tablet one. I tried 2 of the highly reviewed brands on AMZ and both were atop much. Didn’t work well, made me anxious, numb, and detached… I didn’t like that. So I discontinued those and went back to natures made. What this made me realize is that 2 x 200mg tabs of natures made does not equate to a full 400mg dose compared to other brands otherwise why would taking 400mg Tab make me feel like I’m taking 3 x 200mg natures made tabs (which I tried at one point throughout my trial and error). So in summary I’m sticking with this because it’s my Goldilocks…but I recognize that I’m getting less per tab than compared to other brand and while I usually wouldn’t be okay with that, in this case it’s good.

Effective and high quality
This is a reliable brand. It is always fresh and effective. I have taken SAMe daily for 24 years with excellent results for both mood and joint mobility. It used by physicians in Europe as a first line therapy for depression and anxiety .

Fairly useful on EMPTY stomach
To quote my shrink's two warnings: 1 ) Def. to be taken on an empty stomach, and no eating an hour after taking SAM-e either. Not doing this nullifies the benefits. 2) Only works for minor depression, major depression patients have not been shown to benefit from SAM-e. SCIENTIFIC VIEWS/DOSAGE: Among OTC supplements, SAM-e and St John's Wort are the ones the benefit of which are most reliably demonstrated by research (as a brief trip down PubMed articles will show you). If planning to go the natural remedy way, start with either. Adding some Omega-3 can't hurt too; while its mood-benefits are still contested, it has many other perks. As for dosage, there are some articles claiming that common SAM-e dosages are extravagant, and comparable benefits can be obtained by much lower doses, so start with 100 mg, and increase when necessary. MY EXPERIENCE: I've been inclined to minor depression all my life, and over years had good results with Zoloft, Lexapro, Welbutrin, Prozac, among others. When my last episode started I (together with my shrink) decided to go natural and stick with SAM-e, and at 400 mg/ day, since the third week, I'm seeing results comparable to that of aforementioned antidepressants. POSSIBLE ADDITIONS TO THE REGIMEN: Following my prev. shrink's advice, I also take 5-Htp, Tryptophan and DMAE on and off, but the effects have never been as dramatic as those of SAM-e or St. Johns. If you're fine with the extra expense, worth a shot, but keep your expectations minimal.

Works for mood and energy but causes dizziness and stomach problems
My review on this needs a little backstory: I've been taking St. Johns Wort for several years for moderate depression and anxiety. It has changed my life; however, I began to worry about its counteractive effect on birth control. I don't want to use standard pharmaceuticals unless I absolutely have to, so I decided to try Sam-E. Effects of Sam-E on mood: Definite mood boost. Never sank into the very low spots that plagued me before. On energy: Insane energy levels. Useful, but a little scary. For several hours after I took it I was buzzing. On sleep: Gave me moderate insomnia. Again, I didn't feel tired, but not being able to sleep at night was frustrating. On urine?!: Bright highlighter yellow. Florescent pee. That was weird. On stomach: This is where it really got me. I took it after waking up, so empty stomach, and ate 40 minutes to an hour later. For the first week it gave me INTENSE stomach pain for about four hours after taking it. After that first week, the intense pain subsided to a dull ache, but - sorry for the graphics here - it gave me diarrhea every. single. day. Not so good. But since it worked so well at lifting my fatigue, I kept trying it, until week 5... On brain: When the dizziness set in. My brain started swirling around so vigorously I couldn't walk or drive. I actually kept taking it for a week after the dizziness started, because the mental clarity it had given me before was so useful. I didn't want the Sam-E to be the cause. But at week 6 I double checked the list of side effects for Sam-E and yes indeed, dizziness is on it. I switched back to St. Johns and in the weeks since the dizziness has slowly faded away. So, that was a long review, but I wanted to really share my experience. The upsides of Sam-E are very powerful, and since everyone's body reacts a bit differently, it's almost certainly worth a shot if you have anxiety, depression, and fatigue. If Sam-E doesn't work for you, I can recommend from my experience St. Johns Wort. It doesn't give the energy boost but it is a great mood balancer and has never messed with my stomach. I've also heard that 5-HTP can work well for some people, so you might give that a try too. I hope you find something that works for you! Just don't give up and assume that depressed is the only way you can be. As strange as it seems, taking a little plant pill or an enzyme really can be the thing that sets your brain right and gets you on a brighter path. It won't solve all your problems but it can help keep your mind from sabotaging you at every step. :) Good luck.
