Truly Hidden, Sturdy, and Easy to Use Hinges for Concealed Storage
I searched high and low to find hidden hinges that would work on a canvas art frame and these absolutely did not disappoint. They are sturdy, truly hidden, and worked exactly as promised. They open and close smoothly and the instructions included for installation were clear, concise, and accurate. I highly recommend this product for concealed storage behind artwork.

Easy hidden storage access solution
I like how flat the hinges were and that picture frame could open to allow full access to hidden storage. Hinges came with a template and were easy to install.

Nearly Perfect Hidden Hinge System
We built our new master bath suite with a hidden panel in one wall and bought these hinges to hide it behind a painting. Great design, packaging was great, directions were fantastic and the hinges nearly perfect. The only complaint we have is that the gauge of the metal used to construct the hinge is a little too thin and the light wire pins are underwhelming, finding the open/close feel wanting. These would struggle with any piece of art of weight. Perhaps future models will be built more substantial. Great product nonetheless!

Works Well, but Attention to Detail needed during install
Nicely designed hinge. It works perfectly well in covering a wall safe. We had to 'build up' the edges of our chosen picture frame, since our safe had an exterior number pad raised above the level of the wall. But, if anything, that helped is install the hinge, since it gave more room to work with. The box contains templates, but you'll definitely want to go to the manufacturers website and watch the video a few times. We paused it at critical moments as we completed each step, since it is not intuitively obvious what to do. But, follow along closely and you should be ok. It's expensive, but it works, and at the end of the day, you'll have a nicely concealed safe or whatever, and that makes it worth it 100%. Recommended.

A bit pricey but works well
I would say it is a little expensive for what it is but I did not have any of the install issues other reviewers mentioned. I was able to get things nearly perfectly level without any sort of tweaking. The painting will protrude from the wall about 1/4" or so which is perfectly normal - the hinge is very difficult to see as it is recessed from the edge and shadowed. My only complaint is that the hinge itself is not the smoothest thing in the world - it will creak when moving around even if you oil it. A couple tips here to share from my install to get it all nice and level: *Choose a nice painting with a good solid wood frame that won't sag when being supported from one side. I bought a 24"W x 36"T canvas from ZLinSigns on Etsy for under $100. I think with anything wider than about 36" people would have issues with it sagging to whatever side the hinge is not on. That is just how physics works.... *Use a laser level to line up the top and bottom alignment fixtures so you have a nice and level alignment between the two hinges. A really long level could work as well. *I prefer to use the Hillman Duolock drywall anchors instead of the included self-drilling ones. I find the self drilling ones tend to end up off center of where you mark which will then throw off your alignment. *Use a needle oil applicator to put a few drops of oil on each hinge for smoother operation.

Works as advertised
Worked great to hide the opening to my (unfinished) storage area. The instructions could use a little work - I needed a much larger drill bit for the magnet anchors than stated - but overall it was easy to install and works as advertised. The artwork looks just as it did before I cut the hole behind it and installed the hinges.

Extremely difficult to install 'perfectly'
This company is out of their minds thinking this is easy to install. They did a great job with the printed instructions and instruction video, but the issue is the hinge design/alignment factors are fundamentally flawed. I am an experienced handyman, I've installed and leveled 5000lb of garage cabinets, perfectly floated entire kitchen cabinets to walls etc but this got the better of me. Extreme care was taken to align the hinges to the back of the frame, and following their guidelines exactly still yielded a 'slant' from the weight of the frame. Their instructions say to use a level - I used a level and a laser alignment tool which I've used for years but there's too many incremental variables in mounting the hinge to the frame, wall mounting, their hinge manufacturing accuracy etc which all compound into making the hinges slightly twist with one another as they open and close and ultimately making it an impossible task to have a perfectly 'level' painting at the end of the day when its closed. I blew through many holes in my wall because my OCD got the better of me trying to 'counter' the weight of my landscape orientated frame with what the hinges could do so I reset & tried 3 times and it's been a disaster. And on top fall that, the hinges seriously dont close perfectly flush like they advertise, it's impossible because of the thickness of the hinge touching the back of your picture frame.... think about it. The high has to have a gap between the wall and your frame to work. Which is why on their YouTube instruction video they never show you a side on shot when he closes it. Sounds like others mange dot make it work but im 100% certain their pictures are not perfectly level and they're simply satisfied with the gap between the frame and the wall on one side. If you have any sort of OCD at all, and can pic a picture frame thats not straight when you walk into a wall. Forget this product. especially for $90 including tax.

Flimsy for large/heavy paintings. Great for smaller/lighter (under 15lbs) paintings
3 stars because it says can handle up to 50lbs and technically it can. HOWEVER, anything over 10-15lbs, puts too much weight on the hinges, specifically the top hinge and it bows out or forwards when the picture you’re hanging weighs over 15lbs. Not great for large pictures m. So the hinges themselves are very flimsy. But it’s great for covering anything built into the wall like a safe.
