Works well with most usb powered devices, including lighting and usb charging. However, not all external hard drives will work if plugged in to this device as they will not be recognised. If this happens, unplug the hard drive and plug it back in again and it will usually work. If not, you will need to to plug it directly into the usb port on your device. The same process may be needed when connecting usb SSD drives.

Drei Sterne nur, weil ... So ganz aktiv konnte meiner ad hoc nicht werden, da er mit einem englischen Netzstecker geliefert worden ist. Leider konnte mir Amazon nicht weiterhelfen... Also mußte ich für meine SchuKo-Steckdosen einen passenden erstmal aus der Grusch-Kiste holen. Danach - oh - Wunder - eine Super-Performance! ABER einen Verbesserungsvorschlag von mir an den Hersteller: Bitte einen General-Schalter/Knopf anbringen, denn das quietschblaue Licht stört des Nächtens… und zieht Motten an.

Good unit, but let down by shoddy power rectifier I ordered this powered USB hub as it appeared to be ideal for my requirements. When it arrived, although the packaging was good condition it was evident that it had been previously opened. I plugged it in and nothing happened. A small amount of investigation revealed that the problem was that the 12-volt power jack to the unit was not making contact. I therefore retuned it and reordered. Second one arrived, this time the packaging was quite badly damaged and it was all bound up with tape. This time I didn’t get as far as trying it out because the earth pin on the plug was broken off, and it was therefore impossible to even plug it in. Returned again and re-ordered again. This time the packaging was in perfect condition and almost certainly it had not been previously opened. I plugged it in and at first nothing happened. However, after wiggling the 12-volt jack in the socket it did work, but with any vibration or movement it dropped out. It was again a faulty connection. This time I tried powering it with a spare 12-volt adaptor I happened to have, and it worked perfectly, so I have kept it on that basis. The hub itself is fine and works perfectly, and I would probably have given it five stars, but have reduced it to three because of the faulty 12-volt adaptors.

Bought this to extend my usb3 ports. Very easy to use and although I haven’t installed the supplied power supply (yet) it still works out of the box. Lack of plug sockets at home but will get round to adding the power to the hub. Only problem I have is one of my usb devices isn’t on at windows boot up but if I switch off that port then switch it back on the device is seen. Could be attributed to not having the power supply installed but still 5*’s (because I thinks that’s my problem)
