This is one of my first books by r k narayan and for sure I was not disappointed. This is a very good book if you want to try something very light and freshen up your mind. So I highly recommend it as a light read especially to get out of your reading slum

'MALGUDI DAYS', It's not just a collection of short stories, but is an integral part of the lives of millions of Indians 🇮🇳 We have not only lived these stories in our childhood, but we still cherish the memories in our hearts ♥️ 'R K Narayan', was a unique genius who kept himself alive even today with the characters of his stories. Narayan, in his introduction says: "I have named this volume 'MALGUDI DAYS'' in order to give it a plausibly geographical status. I am often asked 'Where is Malgudi?' All I can say is that it is imaginary and not to be found on any map... if I explain that Malgudi is a small town in South India I shall only be expressing a half-truth, for the characteristics of Malgudi seem to me universal." Readers cannot agree more. While some people used to write stories ahead of their time, some author's works were immersed in the memories of the past; "R K Narayan" was seen living completely to the present. On one hand, we have seen 'Kamakshi' playing with 'Thanappa' growing up in the house of 'Ramanujam'. On the other hand, the astrologer was seen winning the trust of people only on the basis of his experiences, even without real knowledge. You will find many more such characters in this book, which seem to match our real life. I am eager to read this book and live this journey once again 😊
