Cyber Acoustics USB Speaker Bar (CA-2890) – Stereo USB Powered Speaker, Easily Clamps to Monitor, Convenient Controls

I was getting fed up of the frankly rubbish sound quality from my (otherwise good) laptop speakers, so after searching online settled on these to solve the problem. And they do, not massively loud, but a big improvement on laptop speakers for music, video and teleconferencing. The clip is a convenient shape that avoids blocking the camera, and the sound quality is pretty good. I like the option to plug into USB or USB-C (I mostly use the latter as it doesn't get used for much else), and not requiring power or more than just the one plug. The buttons on it are interchangeable with screen/keyboard controls for volume and muting. A good honest sensibly priced product, that isn't too big (photo here is on a 15.5" laptop screen), and will fit in the pocket of my laptop bag without taking it all up.

Nice design its very small it 'clamps' itself onto bottom bezel of monitor surprisingly well it will never fall off, looks great the speaker bar quality is about right for its high price, the controls are easy to find and use. however, while it may go surprisingly loud for its small size, it's also a thin tinny sound absent of any bass whatsoever, which is hardly surprising considering its small compact size. If a complete absence of any real bass in the sound is not important? then its a great little sound bar likely last years

I bought this for my wife's birthday and had all fingers crossed I hadn't got it wrong! I didn't!! The speaker is small, neat and quite unobtrusive. So very simple to use via USB or Bluetooth. My wife works from home and hates a cluttered desk so this is perfect. It was as simple to set up - just plug and play. The sound is very clear and strong. It was on the highest setting when she tried it and the desk was vibrating with the music. She has also used it for phone calls and they were as clear as anything. She is very happy and so am I. Great piece of equipment altogether.

Only had it 24 hours, so too early to determine if the speaker has issues in the long term, as reported by other reviewers. My 5 stars reflect it performance with my desk top computer and iPad, dialogue is clear and music sounds good to me for such a small unit, plenty of base. Good buy for the price.

I use Equalizer APO to apply EQ - see screenshot for my settings. It basically needs some treble boost (or cut down the low and mid). Really good once this is done, otherwise it sounds muffled. It also clamps on to the monitor very well. 3-month update: Bluetooth pairing mode persists until a device is connected via Bluetooth. This means, when in USB mode, anyone can connect to it. It actually happend - my neighbour connected to it by mistake and loud music blasted through it. It's a major design flaw. The solution is to forget about the USB mode. Just make sure it stays connected to a device that you own via Bluetooth. That stops the Bluetooth interface from staying in pairing mode.

I was going to buy a Jabra or Anker unit but was put off by the comments relating to Bluetooth sound quality when using those speakerphones with a smartphone. I’m so glad I bought this model instead, I’m told the sound quality at the receivers end is fantastic and from my end voices are true and clear when using over Bluetooth with a smartphone. I use this speakerphone for video conferencing and phone calls, so the ease of switching from USB to Bluetooth is really useful. My only gripe is the USB cable that came with the speakerphone did not work, my laptop failed to acknowledge the speakerphone at all. A quick swap to my Samsung USB cable sorted the issue but it was disappointing that the boxed cable did not work with the unit. Still, that’s not enough to reduce the five star rating as the speakerphone itself is perfect!

whilst the speaker appears to be of decent quality, the power output of 15 watts claimed is completely incorrect - it's 3 watts when powered via USB A connectivity and 5 watts when powered via USB C connectivity. A completely misleading product description and one which is surely in contravention of Trades Description legislation in the UK !!

I was looking to replace my old Logitech Z205 speakers, now becoming crackly at higher volume through a decade of use. The Cyber Acoustics CA-2890 fits the bill admirably. It’s similarly convenient, in that it clips neatly onto the top of my laptop and connects directly via USB. No set up required, no extra cables. In my judgment the sound is slightly better than the Logitech was when new. You won’t be using this little baby to carve out a new career as a DJ, nor will the bass response be shaking the foundations of your home, but neither will the volume and quality disappoint the average laptop user. So it does the job, and as well as you could wish for at the price. Whether the CA-2890 can offer the same length of service that I got from the Logitech is for a future report.

Sound quality is superb. I got this because the speaker assembly of my aio pc broke down after service center guys opened it. It's a USB plug and play. No need to pair via BT. If your aio has a thick bezel then this may not be useful at the bottom. The size is appropriate - not too big nor too small. The performance is adequate - it's doing the job it was bought for. Insanely good value for money product. Would highly recommend this.

This speakerphone is so easy to use that it can be turned on even when a call comes. It has a very good sound quality for a such small speaker. But it must be placed on a solid surface as a table. Otherwise, the sound will be weak and poor quality. I like it and use it daily.
